Dominic Purcell is an English-born actor who prefers to act mainly in action films. He is best known for one of the main roles in the cult action-packed television series Prison Break.
Biography
Dominic Purcell was born in 1970 in the English county of Merseyside. Two years later, the family moved to Australia and settled in Sydney. From childhood, Dominic grew up very active, loved sports and soon began to dream of a career in cinema. A big role in this was played by the pictures "Platoon" by Oliver Stone, which became the favorite of the future star. So Purcell enrolled in acting classes.
After graduating from school, the young man continued his studies at the Australian Theater of Youth (ATRY). Along with this, he did not stop playing sports. Especially the future actor liked surfing. Soon he was noticed on television and was invited to star in one of the series, but after that, for some time, Dominic's life remained far from the world of cinema.
Only in 2000, Purcell moved to the United States and immediately successfully passed the casting for the roles in the films Mission Impossible 2 and Equilibrium, which later became real blockbusters. Then Dominic starred in the youth TV series "John Doe", and in 2004 he played the role of Dracula in the fantastic action movie "Blade: Trinity". A year later, the main event in the actor's career happened - he was approved for the role of Lincoln Burrows in the series "Prison Break" - an illegally convicted and imprisoned man, whom his brother decides to help organize his escape. In total, 5 seasons of the TV show were released, with success around the world.
In the future, Dominic Purcell starred in several more action films, but they did not have much success. The long-awaited career changes came in 2017, when it was unexpectedly decided to revive the popular series, The Escape: The Continuation, in which Purcell once again played the beloved role. The actor also appeared in the series Supergirl and Arrow. The return of a multi-part film about two brothers-specialists in escaping from guarded prisons was very warmly received, and the question of filming new seasons is currently being decided.
Personal life
Dominic Purcell met his first and only wife, Rebecca, during his student years in Australia. In 1999, their son Joseph was born. After moving to the United States, a daughter, Audrey, was born, and in 2003 the twins Lily Rose and Augustus were born. And yet, gradually the old feelings between the spouses faded away, and they decided to divorce.
In 2011, Purcell began dating actress Anna-Lynn McCord. They were together until 2014, after which they parted, but soon got back together. But this civil marriage still broke up in 2018. The actor is in no hurry to start a new relationship. Currently, he has enough communication with his many children.
