Starting conditions
Georgy Ivanovich Drozd was born on May 28, 1941 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in the famous city of Kiev. My father worked in a construction company. The mother was engaged in housekeeping and raising children. Three weeks after the birth of the boy, the war broke out. There is no particular need to talk about how hard it was for the child and his parents to go through the hard times of war. Despite the daily hardships, Georgy grew up a positive and cheerful person.
At school, the future actor studied well. His favorite subjects were history and literature. Like many boys of the post-war period, Drozd loved to play football. Sometimes he even forgot to do his homework, but this did not happen often. In high school, Georgy regularly attended classes in the drama studio at the city palace of pioneers. When the time came to choose a profession, he decided to get a specialized education at the acting department of the Kiev Institute of Theater Arts. Entered the first time.
Professional activity
In 1962, a certified actor by assignment entered the service at the Odessa Drama Theater. Thrush from the first weeks harmoniously "blended" into the troupe. He was included in almost all repertoire performances. The stage career was developing quite well. Three years later, George was invited to move to Riga. Here, at the Russian Drama Theater, he served for almost eighteen years. In 1982, the already established actor accepted the offer and moved to Moscow. He was registered in the cult Sovremennik Theater. However, after a few years, George had to return to his native Kiev, where his elderly mother was left without care.
He was accepted into the troupe of the Lesya Ukrainka Academic Theater of Russian Drama. Within the walls of this theater Drozd served until the last day of his life. Simultaneously with his participation in theatrical performances, Georgy also starred in films. As is usually the case, he began with participation in episodes and on the sidelines. Over time, the actor began to trust the main roles. In the film "The Main Argument of Kings" Drozd reincarnated as the President of the United States. In the film "Twice Born" he played the role of a German officer.
Recognition and privacy
The work of Georgy Drozd was appreciated by the audience and official bodies. In 1999 he was awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of Ukraine".
Almost everything is known about the personal life of the talented actor. He was legally married twice. From his first wife, Georgy Ivanovich had a son, Maxim. After the divorce, the spouse left secular life and went to a monastery.
In the second marriage, the husband turned out to be 27 years older than his wife. They had a daughter, Claudia. After some time, the head of the family was diagnosed with an oncological disease. Georgy Drozd died in June 2015.
