Alice Strict: biography
The future soloist of the Mariinsky Theater was born on November 26, 1943, at the height of the Great Patriotic War, in the city of Chelyabinsk, where her parents moved from occupied Leningrad. Her mother Kozachkova A. S., a native Petersburg woman, was very upset about moving from her hometown, and after the war the family decided to return to Leningrad. In 1953, Strogaya entered the Leningrad Choreographic School named after I. Vaganova. The famous ballerina Belikova Nina Viktorovna became her teacher. It was she, in addition to her choreographic education, who instilled in the young student that passion and characteristic presentation of the dance, which in the future so favorably distinguished Alice the Strict.
Alice Strict: career
In 1962, Alisa joined the troupe of the Kirov Theater. With a bright appearance and lively character, she quickly won public recognition. In 1974, in the ballet “Prodigal Son” by the Estonian choreographer May-Esther Murdmaa, Strict became the leading performer of the Mother's role. Her work was highly appreciated by the audience.
Then there were the characteristic parts in the ballets "Le Corsaire", "Swan Lake", "Laurencia". In 1980, based on the ballet "Shurale", the film-ballet "Forest Fairy Tale" was shot, in which the Strict One played the bright and colorful role of the Fire Witch. An exciting story about the adventures of the characters of Tatar folklore has become interesting for both the adult audience and the children.
In 1983, Alisa Strogaya received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR.
Since 1988 she worked as a teacher of character dance at the Vaganova Leningrad Choreographic School. In 1995, Alisa Strogaya became an associate professor of the Department of Acting, and in 2005 she received the title of Professor of the Department of Historical and Characteristic Dance.
In 2007, Alisa Strogaya ends her creative career and leaves Russia. Currently, the ballerina lives with her family in Norway, in the city of Bergen.
Alice Strict: personal life
Alisa Strogaya met her future husband Yevgeny Shcherbakov at the choreographic school. In 1959 he was admitted to the troupe of the Kirov Theater, where he became the leading soloist. In 1964, Alisa Strogaya and Yevgeny Shcherbakov got married. In marriage, their daughter Daria was born. Husband and wife have always supported each other, together they have come a long and happy journey of 50 years! On November 14, 2014, Evgeny Shcherbakov died.
Alisa Strogaya made a huge contribution to the development of Russian ballet and proved that her beloved work will never become a hindrance to a long and happy family life.
