Childhood and youth
Older people still remember the days when songs were played on wired radio. These songs were listened to, remembered, and then performed at the festive table. The famous performer Irina Sergeevna Brzhevskaya began to be recognized by her voice, after the lyric ballad "On your porch" sounded on the air. Amazingly, this simple song touched the hearts of millions of people living on the vast territory of the Soviet Union.
The future Honored Artist of the RSFSR was born on December 27, 1929 in the family of the creative intelligentsia. Parents at that time lived in Moscow. Father, People's Artist of the Republic, teacher of GITIS. Mother worked as a teacher at the university. The child grew up surrounded by attention and care. Irina from an early age demonstrated the ability to dance. She was taken to classes in a choreographic studio. In high school, she attended classes in a theatrical circle. After school, Brzhevskaya decided to get a specialized education at the vocal department of the Institute of Theater Arts.
Stage activity
Already at the student's bench, Brzhevskaya actively performed on stage. She was invited to professional holidays in branch houses and palaces of culture. At one of these performances, Irina met Dmitry Pokrass. The maestro served at the Central Railway Theater. He liked the vocal creativity of Brzhevskaya. After graduating from the institute, the certified singer began her professional career in the railway jazz orchestra under the direction of Pokrass. For a little over three years, the singer was recognized at almost all railway stations in the country.
Irina preferred to perform genre, descriptive songs. Such as "It is good evenings on the Ob", "How is it served to you", "Moscow windows". The performer demonstrated not only her vocal abilities, but also the skills of the actress. The song "Geologists" became the real calling card of Brezhevskaya. In 1957 she became the organizer of the vocal-instrumental ensemble "Vesna". As part of this group, the singer toured the cities and towns of her native country. She has performed many times in the countries of Eastern Europe.
Recognition and privacy
For many years and fruitful work in the field of culture and art, Irina Brzhevskaya was awarded the Order of Honor. The singer won first prize at the pop song festival in the German city of Dresden.
Irina Sergeevna's personal life turned out well. She married Vladimir Zabrodin, who played the trumpet in the Vesna ensemble. The husband and wife worked together. We divided all the hardships of touring performances in half. The singer passed away in April 2019.
