Laura Antonelli is the brightest star of Italian cinema in the 70s and 80s. She starred mainly in erotic films and has earned many awards for her work, including the National Ente David di Donatello Award.

Biography

Antonelli Laura was born at the end of November 1941 in Istra, in the city of Pola, which at that time belonged to Italy, and today is part of Croatia. The parents of the future star were teachers and constantly shuttled between Naples, Genoa and Venice.

By the way, the family name is Antonats, and the actress took the pseudonym “Antonelli” later, having started acting in films. After receiving her secondary education, Laura entered the Naples Institute of Physical Education, which she graduated with a teacher's diploma and went to work in one of the prestigious lyceums in Rome. But soon fate took an unexpected turn, opening a completely new world for a pretty girl. She was invited to take part in the advertising TV show "Carousel" as a model, and Laura realized that she was enjoying creativity in front of the camera.

Career

Laura's debut film work was Petrini's film Le sedicenni, released in 1965. It was a teenage drama without any eroticism. But already in 1969, Laura embodies the sexy Wanda in the film "Venus in Furs" directed by director Dallamano. Since the 1970s. until the 1980s, Antonelli simultaneously takes part in the filming of several erotic films, and one of them, "Insidiousness" brings the actress wide popularity and Laura receives several awards at once for her role. The film grossed more than six million lire at the Italian box office.

This was followed by several comedies, and in the 1971 film "Remarried" Laura first worked side by side with the famous Jean-Paul Belmondo. The creative tandem of actors appeared on the screen in 1972, in the comedy "Doctor Popol". In total, Antonelli starred in 47 films.

The year 1991 was fatal for Laura. There were two events that put an end to her brilliant career and the image of a sex symbol. First, the actress was arrested on charges of drug use and distribution. She was sentenced to three years in prison, but the sentence was soon changed to house arrest. Almost ten years later, the court acquitted Laura, but only thanks to changes in Italian law.

Then, for the sake of filming, the filmmakers persuaded Laura to start new then procedures - for the sake of smooth skin and beauty, to undergo a course of collagen injections. These injections disfigured a beautiful woman, and for the next several years she did not appear in public, refused to communicate with friends and colleagues and, of course, stopped appearing on the screen. The despair of the actress was so great that she even ended up in a psychiatric hospital.

Laura's first marriage took place in her youth - with a respectable book publisher Enrico Piacentini. In 1971, Laura met Belmondo and a whirlwind romance broke out between them, full of passion, jealousy, romance and hot scandals. The actress dreamed of becoming the wife of her lover and even divorced her first husband for this. But the endless scenes of jealousy that Laura threw up to her lover finally cooled his passion completely and he broke up with the actress. After the tragedies of 1991, the actress closed herself off, spent all her savings somewhere and began to live as a recluse, receiving a tiny pension and actively attending church. In the summer of 2015, the housekeeper found Laura unconscious, but she died before the doctors arrived.
