Brandon was born in October 1993 in Miami, one of the warmest states in the United States. In addition to his son, there are two more daughters in the family of Debbie and Michael Flynn, with whom the actor has always been very friendly.

The first role went to Brandon in elementary school, in a children's play about the adventures of Peter Pan. At first, the boy was very embarrassed to go on stage and refused to take part in the production. His friends persuaded him, and did not regret it. It was from the first role in a funny children's play that it became clear that the boy had a rather big acting talent that needed to be developed. The teacher recommended giving Brandon an optional acting class.

Of course, at first the restless boy did not want to study dramatic art at all and he resisted in every possible way. Parents with great difficulty managed to persuade Brandon to try at least a year. During this time, the young man literally fell in love with the drama, became a great admirer of Shakespeare's work and no longer thought of his future career outside the stage.

First creative steps

After leaving school, Brandon decided to leave for London. There he managed to work on the stage of the world famous Globus Theater. And this experience convinced the young man even more of his desire to start working as an actor.

A year later, Brandon returned to the United States and was able to enroll in one of the most prestigious acting schools in Miami without any problems. He continued his studies with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at the University of New Jersey.

While still a student, Brandon took part in many castings and auditions. Unfortunately, the aspiring actor got only cameo roles in extras and starred in commercials several times.

His first role in a real movie, Brandon played at the age of 23, when he was offered to shoot in the TV series "Braindead" ("Brainless"). This fantastic story with elements of political satire was not very popular with the audience, and after the release of the first season, work on the series was discontinued.

After that, Brandon worked on the short film "Home Movies", which also starred the popular actor Myles Heizer.

Concurrently with his attempts to act in films, Brandon played in several theaters in Manhattan, taking part in such popular productions as "Kid Victory" and "The Crucible".

In 2017, the TV series 13 Reasons Why, based on the novel by the talented writer Jay Asher, was released. The story of the tragic suicide of schoolgirl Hannah Baker, played by the charismatic actress Katherine Langford, was liked by the young American audience.

In the course of events, it turns out that the girl committed suicide for a reason. To tell about who and what pushed her to such a terrible step, she sent 13 audiocassettes before her death, on which she recorded her confession. The persons involved in the drama must listen to the recordings and pass them on to each other according to the list drawn up by Hannah. If these rules are violated by any of the perpetrators, the girl's friends will turn over the records to the police.

Brandon's character, the captain of the high school basketball team, is also accused of Hannah's death. Once the guy offended Hannah and now he is deeply worried, acutely feeling his guilt. Despite the fact that the hero of Brannon is a guy with a bad past and a difficult character, he is not alien to remorse and regret about what happened.

In one of the interviews that Brandon Flynn gave after the release of the series, the young man admitted that he was not at all indifferent to the problems raised in the tape. He said that several of his friends also decided to commit suicide and this deeply traumatized the young man. He is confident that his performance in the series makes a contribution to the prevention of suicide among adolescents.

The series "13 Reasons Why" became very popular among American schoolchildren, so the management of the Netflix channel decided to shoot the second and third parts of the story. The second part, in which the participants talk about their role in the tragic event in the courtroom, is already devoid of psychological intrigue. However, the audience did not become less interested in following the fate of their favorite characters. The premiere of the second season took place in May 2018, and work on the third part of the saga began in August.

In addition to this role, in 2018 Brandon began work in the third season of the popular TV series "True Detective", where he will act in one of the main roles.

Personal life

In addition to his role in the popular youth TV series, Brandon became known for his open confession about gay sex. Already at the age of 14, he admitted this to his parent and in the future also did not hide his hobby.

In the fall of 2017, during the filming of the series, it became known about Brandon Flynn's relationship with singer Sam Smith, who was a little older than the young man. However, the photographers did not hunt for a couple in love for a long time, they broke up in June 2018.
