The transition of the Russian economy from a planned system to market mechanisms required the relevant knowledge and practical experience from the executors. The challenges faced by the reformers were complex, and there was no single algorithm for solving them. Experts believe that this is one of the reasons that the national economic mechanism is stalling today. Doctor of Economics Sergei Yuryevich Glazyev has his own opinion on this matter.
The path to the profession
In the second half of the twentieth century, the production of computer technology developed at a high rate. Soviet and American mathematicians were engaged in the creation of control programs. Both schoolchildren and eminent scientists who studied the problems of controlling mechanical, biological and social systems were fond of cybernetics. Sergei Yurievich Glazyev, being a young man, was also interested in this field of activity. And he was not only interested, but purposefully strove to make his youthful dream come true.
The future Doctor of Economics was born on January 1, 1961 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in the city of Zaporozhye in Ukraine. The child grew up in an atmosphere of care and goodwill. From an early age, Sergei was taught to work and to respect his elders. At first, the biography of a young man developed according to well-established traditions. The boy went to school and without much stress received a certificate of maturity. He was respected and considered an informal leader among his classmates.
After the tenth grade, he went to the capital and became a student at the famous Moscow State University. In 1983 he graduated with honors from an educational institution with a degree in economic cybernetics. Sergei decided to get a better education and enrolled in graduate school. Three years later he defended his Ph. D. thesis. Four years later, when he turned 29, he became a doctor of economic sciences. Independent experts acknowledge that this is a brilliant career for our contemporary.
Political activity
At the end of the 80s, Glazyev was engaged not only in scientific research, but also participated in various projects aimed at reforming the economy of the Soviet Union. On this basis, he met with future reformers and observed how they lived and what they were striving for. The team of young and skilled economists was small. Everyone knew each other. After the infamous coup in August 1991, it became clear that the Soviet state would be destroyed. Sergei Yuryevich is invited to the post of head of the RF Foreign Economic Relations Committee.
Glazyev worked with the interests of the country in mind. He was even appointed Minister of Foreign Economic Relations. However, in 1993 he leaves this post of his own free will, since he does not want to participate in the plunder of national wealth. In subsequent years, he was repeatedly elected as a deputy of the State Duma. He took an active part in the creation of the Eurasian Customs Union. In 2012, Doctor of Economics Glazyev was appointed Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation.
The personal life of Sergei Glazyev is not of interest to the paparazzi and the yellow press. The famous economist has been legally married for a long time. The husband and wife raised two children. In their house, in any weather, advice and love.
