Sergey Yurievich Galanin is a Russian rock musician. Founder and permanent leader of the Serga group. He also performed in other famous bands, recorded several solo albums and performed some songs in a duet with other Russian rock stars.
Biography
Sergey Yurievich was born in 1961 on November 16. As a child, he had no craving for creativity, and, like most Soviet rockers, he continued to study after school and entered an engineering institute with a degree in bridges and roads. Having successfully completed his studies, Sergei got a job at the Metrostroy laboratory. And already here the desire to take up a creative career began to appear. Galanin decided to enter the school of culture in Lipetsk. He chose the conducting course as his main profile. Also, at this time, Sergey began to make acquaintances, which in the future will play an important role in his fate and career. In particular, he met Garik Sukachev and Yevgeny Khavtan.
Career
In 1982, Sergei Galanin began to take his first steps towards success. He, as a guitarist, together with Yevgeny Khavtan, joined the then little-known group "Rare Bird". Quite quickly, their team gained popularity, they wanted to see them in local recreation centers, at youth events and apartment buildings. But the group did not last long, after a year they broke up.
But Sergei was not going to give up, almost immediately, together with the keyboardist of the group Alexander Aedonitsky, they create a new collective - "Gulliver". They start performing and even record their first album. The band begins to give concerts and appears at local festivals. The success was so great that the group was noticed abroad. "Gulliver" was mentioned on the air of German radio, which was unacceptable in Soviet realities, as a result - the group was added to the black lists and their activity began to plummet. The musicians tried to continue, but due to some disagreements, the group broke up.
Before SerGa appeared, Sergei managed to record a solo album, Dog Waltz. It was then that people began to pay attention to the musician, some songs even became popular, and in 1994, the SerGa group was created. In the same year, they shared the stage with such well-known groups at that time as: "Alice" and "Chaif". The following year, the group went on their first tour, the audience listened with pleasure to newcomers, although there were not many songs in their repertoire. At first, the group performed works from Galanin's solo album, but over time, the repertoire began to expand. In 1999, the group recorded one of the most successful and popular albums "Wonderland", the album fell in love with the public thanks to the composition of the same name from it. Until 2006, the group recorded albums steadily, but after that they took a break. Despite this, the band continued to perform at concerts and festivals.
Only in 2011, to the anniversary of Sergei Galanin - he turned 50 - the group gave a concert, which also presented a new album "Children's Heart". Sergey, being in the group, also gives recitals and takes part in various events and festivals. In addition, the musician tried himself as a TV presenter, helped to record several albums for the Chaif group. He starred in several films and continues to try himself in something new, not forgetting about music. The group "Earring" released the last album at the moment in 2017.
Personal life
Sergei Galanin is married and has two children, almost nothing is known about his family, since the musician really does not like to talk about personal things, claiming that the main thing is creativity.
