Biography

Anita Tsoi (nee Kim) is of Uzbek-Korean descent. The future singer was born in Moscow in 1971. The father left the family early, and the girl was raised by her mother, who worked as a research assistant. Due to her exotic appearance, Anita was often ridiculed at school. To somehow relieve boredom and loneliness, she began attending a music school, learning to play the violin and piano. After school, the girl decided to get a law degree, but even then she began to dream of a musical career.

In her free time, Anita Tsoi sang in the choir, and also composed her own songs. Her goal was to record an album, which cost a lot of money. It was with difficulty that a certain amount was raised with the support of relatives and friends, but it was not enough. Anita had to start trading in the market, and finally, in 1997, she recorded her first album, Flight, which she began to distribute through her acquaintances.

The popularity of the aspiring singer began to grow rapidly. This was facilitated not only by the talented performance of songs, but also by the well-known Korean surname in Russia. There were rumors that Anita is the daughter or relative of the tragically deceased singer Viktor Tsoi. She herself tried for a long time to dispel these speculations, but in narrow circles they still go. After some success of the first disc, she released two more - "Black Swan" and "I’ll remember you".

In 2003, Anita Tsoi decided to radically change her image. She lost weight, began to dress fashionably and look like she stepped off the cover of a fashion magazine. The singer began to appear actively on television and tour the country. Her show concert "ANITA" was a resounding success, and Anita was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia. Every few years, Choi releases a new album, necessarily accompanied by vivid video clips and performances. The last disc called "Without things" was released in 2015.

Personal life

Anita Tsoi married an aspiring politician of Korean origin Sergei Tsoi during her student years. Due to national traditions, the couple does not spend as much time together as they would like, so the birth of their son Sergei, named after their father, was a long-awaited event for them. It was the weight gained after childbirth that made the artist reconsider her lifestyle and seriously start changing her image.

The singer has always been known for her sociability and goodwill. She enjoys communicating with fans through social networks, and also tries not to miss participation in important events for the country. One of the recent ones was the video for the song "Victory", released in honor of the successful performance of the Russian national team at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
