Nadezhda Pavlova is a name that the whole world knows. An outstanding ballerina, talented teacher and choreographer, People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of many competitions and festivals - this is not all of her merits. Both art people and ordinary viewers consider Pavlova a bright star in the world of Russian ballet.
Biography
Nadezhda was born in the city of Cheboksary on May 15, 1956. The family had many children, her father worked as an X-ray technician, and her mother worked as a teacher in an ordinary kindergarten.
From the age of 7, Nadya studied in a choreographic circle at the local House of Pioneers. In 1966, teachers from the Perm Choreographic School came to Cheboksary in search of choreographically gifted children. Young Pavlova was noticed and offered to study in Perm.
The girl was led by Lyudmila Pavlovna Sakharova, a teacher who adheres to the teaching methodology based on the merger of the classical Leningrad and Moscow ballet schools.
During her studies, Nadezhda took an active part in productions of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater, where she performed various children's roles.
She also performed in concerts with numbers that M. Gaziev choreographed for her: "Mischievous Girl", "Girl and Echo" and "Little Ballerina".
In 1970, during a tour in Moscow, the young ballerina was noticed by the capital's teachers and reviewers, who spoke very warmly about her.
Career and professional achievements
At the age of 15, Pavlova already won the first prize at the All-Union Competition of Choreographers and Ballet Dancers. In 1973, the artist won the Grand Prix at the II International Ballet Competition, which was held in Moscow.
After that, the ballerina began an active tour throughout the country and abroad. She performed with great success in Russia, Italy, France, Japan, Austria.
In 1975, Nadezhda Pavlova became a soloist of the renowned Bolshoi Theater. She has been dancing for a long time with one partner - Vyacheslav Gordeev. She also worked with other famous soloists: Valery Anisimov, Yuri Vasyuchenko.
For 7 years, Pavlova performed the main dance roles in the theater: Marie in The Nutcracker and Phrygia in Yuri Grigorovich's Spartacus, Kitri in the play Don Quixote and others.
In 1984, the ballerina was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR. She successfully graduated from the ballet department of GITIS and began giving master classes in different countries around the world.
From 1992 to 1994, Nadezhda Pavlova worked as the artistic director of the Nadezhda Pavlova Ballet Theater. She was also invited to the jury of various international competitions.
In addition, Pavlova starred in several feature and documentary films about ballet.
Her colleagues from the art world were very kind to her and more than once painted her portraits and created sculptures of the artist.
She officially ended her performing career in 2001.
Now Nadezhda Pavlova lives and works in Moscow. She teaches at GITIS and is a teacher-tutor at the ballet theater at this educational institution.
Since 2013 he has been working as the official choreographer of the Bolshoi Ballet Company.
As for her personal life, Pavlova's first husband was her partner Vyacheslav Gordeev, but the marriage broke up. Then the ballerina married a psychotherapist Konstantin Okulevich. Pavlova has no children; ballet was and remains her greatest love.
