Biography

Anatoly Kasheparov was born in 1950 in Belarus, in Minsk. There were no musicians in Anatoly's family. His father, Efim Filippovich, knew physics, chemistry, mathematics well and helped students in writing theses in these disciplines. Mother worked in the publishing house "Belarus" as a proofreader.

Anatoly had a beautiful and sensual voice since childhood. He listened to popular singers and tried to copy their singing.

In 1965, the future artist graduated from the music school, accordion class. Then he entered the Minsk Polytechnic Institute. Love for music led the young man to the musical group "Blue Guitars", which was organized by the students of the institute. Young guys gave concerts in clubs and sang in restaurants.

At one of the performances, the talented young man was noticed by Vladimir Mulyavin, the head of the vocal-instrumental ensemble "Pesnyary". He invited the young man to his team. In 1971, Anatoly Kasheparov became the soloist of one of the most famous Soviet pop groups - Pesnyary.

As part of the ensemble, he toured the cities of the country and abroad.

In 1976, Belarusian musicians were on tour in the United States. Anatoly Kasheparov first saw how people live in America. Later, the artist recalled that American life seemed like a holiday to him.

The young man understood that his singing career would one day end. He began to think about his future. Anatoly already had an institute of culture behind him. He decided to continue his education and entered the directing department at GITIS (State Institute of Theater Arts named after A. V. Lunacharsky). In 1989, Kasheparov left Pesnyary, as his studies at GITIS did not allow him to go on tour.

Anatoly received his director's diploma in 1990. At this time, the difficult years of perestroika began in the country. People of creative professions: singers, actors, directors remained unclaimed. In 1991, Kasheparov decided to emigrate to the United States.

Anatoly left alone, leaving his wife and two daughters in Minsk. They came to him a year later, when he found work in America and rented an apartment. At first, the family lived in Los Angeles, then moved to New York. Anatoly had to overcome the difficulties that befell him in America. To provide for his family, the singer did not shun any work. He sang in a restaurant and worked as a pizza delivery guy until he was firmly on his feet.

Currently, the Kasheparov family lives in Florida in their own house. They have their own business: two restaurants-pizzerias.

In the 70-80s of the last century, the vocal-instrumental ensemble "Pesnyary" was at the peak of its popularity.

Anatoly Kasheparov successfully performed solo in the songs "Mowing Yas Stable", "Mother-in-law", "Spadchyna" and others. He was particularly good at lyric songs. Anatoly Kasheparov was the first performer of A. Pakhmutova's song to the poems by N. Dobronravov “I can’t do otherwise”. In the group, he played an ancient Slavic instrument, the wheeled lyre.

The musicians gathered huge halls and stadiums, giving three or four concerts a day. The songs of the legendary "Pesnyars" have always been based on good poetry. The head of the group, Vladimir Mulyavin, was able to harmoniously combine the musicality of Belarusian and Russian folklore with modern rhythms. The group's repertoire consisted mainly of Belarusian songs.

Vladimir Mulyavin turned to the songwriter Mikhail Matusovsky with a request to write a Russian song for his collective. In 1976 the poet wrote the song "Vologda" to the music of Boris Mokrousov. The arrangement was composed by Mulyavin.

The song was first performed at the anniversary evening of Mikhail Matusovsky performed by Anatoly Kasheparov. The young soloist not only sang, but also played the accordion.

The song "Vologda" brought Kasheparov unprecedented popularity. They asked to play "Vologda" as an encore. At each concert of "Pesnyarov" the audience was waiting for the singer with an unusual and soulful timbre of voice. Together with Kasheparov, the audience sang along: "In Vologda-where-where-where …".

Anatoly Kasheparov managed to earn the love of his listeners. Until now, several generations of Soviet people remember their idol.

Personal life

Anatoly met his future wife Larisa in Vitebsk, where Pesnyary was on tour. Speaking at the House of Officers of this city, the young man saw a pretty girl. She worked there as an artistic director. Anatoly was fascinated by Larisa's smile and immediately invited her to his home in Minsk. The singer at that time was 33 years old, and his chosen one was 24. Young people began to live together.
