There is no reason to call the processes taking place in the Russian economy positive. Tariffs for energy resources are increasing annually, food prices are growing, and real incomes of the population are decreasing. The economic bloc of the government skillfully finds a justification for what is happening. At the same time, the well-known Russian economist Andrei Nikolaevich Illarionov does not get tired of expressing critical remarks about the decisions made.

Starting conditions

In Soviet times, economics was not one of the popular disciplines to study. Young people were more interested in technology, physics and mathematics. Today we can say with good reason that Andrei Illarionov did not think in a standard way from an early age. The future adviser to the President of the Russian Federation on economic issues was born in September 1961 in an intelligent family. Parents lived in the city of Sestroretsk near Leningrad and worked in the field of public education.

The biography of Andrei Illarionov was formed according to classical patterns. The child willingly went to school and studied well, although he did not reach an excellent student. He participated in public life, went in for sports, found a common language with classmates. He watched how his peers live, and what goals they set for themselves in the future. When the time came to choose a profession, he did not imitate those around him and chose the economics department of the Leningrad State University. I easily passed the entrance exams and got a higher education in five years.

The young specialist Illarionov was interested in research work. To this end, in 1983, a certified economist entered graduate school at the Department of International Economics. The scientific career of the postgraduate student was developing successfully. In 1987, Andrei Nikolaevich defended his Ph. D. thesis. The topic of his research was the essence of state monopoly capitalism. Within three years, his works will be referred to when developing a program for the country's development.

On the presidential team

After the infamous August 1991 putsch, it became clear to experts and analysts that the days of the Soviet Union were numbered. The name of Andrei Illarionov was well known in the circle of young reformers. He closely communicated with Chubais, and with Gaidar, and with other public figures. In the spring of 1992, Illarionov was invited to the Center for Economic Reforms, which was formed under the government of the Russian Federation. However, an experienced specialist, as they say, did not fit into the team.

Defending his point of view on the mechanism for regulating financial flows, Illarionov harshly criticized the chairman of the Central Bank. In the heat of controversy, he spoke impartially about the activities of Chernomyrdin, who headed the government. Andrei Nikolaevich was kicked out of his job “for absenteeism”. He took this conflict hard. In the spring of 2000, Illarionov was appointed advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.

The personal life of an economist and an official has developed unevenly. Andrey got married for love. Husband and wife lived together. Raised a son and daughter. However, after Illarionov's dismissal from the presidential administration in 2005, the marriage broke up. According to competent sources, today Illarionov is not burdened by family ties.
