Alexander Elizarov: biography
Alexander Elizarov was born on March 7, 1952 in the village of Vyazovka, Sosnovoborsky District, Penza Region.
He became interested in skiing at the age of 15 while studying at vocational school-10 in the city of Kuznetsk. He was a multiple champion of Kuznetsk, and as the strongest skier he was invited to study at the Penza Engineering College. In Penza, he first tried himself in biathlon, began to train under the guidance of Nikolai Elakhov.

In 1971 he graduated with honors from GPTU-10 of the city of Kuznetsk. He was a multiple champion of Kuznetsk, and as the strongest skier he was invited to study at the Penza Engineering College. Pupils of Nikolai Elakhov, Alexander Elizarov and Ivan Tyulyukin, were part of the USSR national biathlon team from 1973 to 1980. Career
Since 1973, Alexander Elizarov has been a member of the junior national team of the country, trying his hand at international competitions, and already in the main squad - in the USSR Cup, where he "outplayed" Alexander Tikhonov himself.
In 1976 he moved to Mytishchi near Moscow, where he was actively preparing for the future Olympics. He played for Trud (Moscow region).
At the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, he became the Olympic champion in the relay and bronze medalist in the individual 20 km race. In the relay he performed at the 1st stage.
In 1978 he graduated from the State Central Order of Lenin Institute of Physical Culture (GTsOLIFK). He worked as a coach with the USSR youth team.
In 1982, in the Pushkin district of the Moscow region, he founded a sports school for biathlon (now - the Pushkin complex children's and youth sports school for biathlon and other sports named after A. M. Elizarov), was its first director. Honored coach of Russia.
Career
From 1980 to 1985 he worked as a coach of the USSR youth team.
In 1985 he created on the basis of secondary school No. 4 in Mytishchi and was the first director of the Children's and Youth Sports School for biathlon of the MOS OBL DSO Trud. In 1987 the school was named after A. Elizarov.
In 1986, he initiated the creation of the Moscow Region Biathlon Federation, becoming its first president.
In 1995 he created ZAO TsPP "Oruzheiny Dom" in Mytishchi and headed it until 2015. Sponsored leading athletes and coaches living in the Mytishchi municipal district and the Moscow region.
In 1999 he was the organizer and leader of the expedition to the North Pole. Held the first biathlon competition at the North Pole.
Since 2002, according to a letter from the governor of the Moscow region. and the decree of the Moscow regional association of the organization of trade unions of the CYSS in biathlon MOS OBL DSO "Trud" was donated to the Municipal property of the Pushkin region.

In March 2012, in Penza, on the building of the engineering college, in which in 1971-1975. studied A. M. Elizarov, in the presence of the Governor of the Penza region V. K. Bochkarev, a memorial plaque was opened in honor of the eminent graduate.
In December 2017, at the Conference of the Russian Union of Athletes (RCC), by general vote, he was elected Vice-President of the Russian Union of Athletes.
In May 2018, at the Conference of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU), he was elected a member of the board of the Russian Biathlon Union.
In July 2018, Elizarov A. M. awarded the honorary title "Honored Worker of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Moscow Region".
In January 2019, at the reporting and election conference of the Regional Public Organization the Biathlon Federation of the Moscow Region (ROO FBMO) Elizarov A. M. was unanimously elected as Honorary President of the Biathlon Federation of the Moscow Region.
