Vladimir Zubkov is a famous hockey player of the Soviet era, he twice won the world championship as part of the USSR national team. On account of his participation in many competitions of that time, he always played the role of a defender.
Biography
The future hockey star was born in 1958, in winter. The capital of Russia became the homeland of Vladimir. The boy's mother was engaged in accounting, and his father spent most of his life as a factory specialist. There were 3 brothers in their family, Zubkov was average.
From childhood, the boy was sent to the hockey section, the reason for this was the desire of his grandfather, a man who helped the young athlete to seek motivation in difficult training moments. According to Zubkov himself, it was his grandfather who made a decisive contribution to such a highly regarded discipline and dedication of a world-class hockey player.
Sports activities in the USSR
For most of his youth training experience, the guy dreamed of becoming a full-fledged member of the popular CSKA team at that time. When the time came, the young man tried, but luck turned away from him, the eminent hockey club refused the novice athlete.
Despite the annoying refusal, Vladimir continued his attempts to join any promising team. He managed to become a member of Spartak. At the age of 18, Zubkov first entered the wide open spaces of professional hockey as a defender. The player's cooperation with the club lasted exactly five years, then the dream came true: CSKA accepted him into the official squad.
The athlete spent about 6 years in the new place. During this time, he was able to win the world championship twice as part of the USSR national team. The Moscow hockey organization had only a positive impact on Vladimir, it was in this team that he reached his peak in his sports career.
Career in France
In 1989, already an experienced defender made the decision to move to the French hockey club Amiens. There he was given many privileges, in particular, he was allowed to play in the first link of defense. The player was appreciated, unlike previous teams in his home country, where he played only the role of support, played in the third link.
Zubkov's sports career abroad lasted from 1989 to 2001. During this time, he received many offers to join the most famous bands in France. First, he took over as captain at Chamonix, played for 3 years and left the squad.
Then Vladimir, having tried several options, opted for the French hockey organization Cholet. This club has become the last sports haven for the eminent athlete. When he left him, Zubkov's age was already 42 years old.
In the end, the man stayed to live in Europe, returning to Russia only as a visitor. He took up a coaching post in one of the leading teams in France, at the moment he is actively developing in this area of activity.
