Alexander Ponomarev is a famous Ukrainian singer, composer, poet, producer and actor. He has dozens of awards. The vocalist represented Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003. His compositions are mesmerizing, attracting even more attention.
A talented musician was born in Khmelnitsky in 1973, on August 9. As a child, the boy communicated little with his peers due to poor health. Having matured and got stronger, Sasha often got into fights and even preferred to be friends with hooligans.
Formation time
Even during training in the elementary grades, the child's giftedness was manifested. Sasha played the guitar, composed songs. His first composition was the composition "Saint Anna". Works were created for the girl you liked. Alexander performed it as a serenade under her window. At thirteen, the boy began to learn to play the piano.
Ponomarev was also fond of sports. He was boxing. Doctors banned further training due to a dangerous injury. This was the reason for admission to the conductor-choir department at the local music school. The applicant succeeded in the incredible: he did not study at a music school. They accepted it on the condition of independent mastering of its entire program. The student coped with the task. Then there was an education at the Lviv Conservatory at the faculty of vocal.
For the first time in the competition, Ponomarev performed at Chervona Ruta. A vocal competition was held in Donetsk. The young singer became the winner. At the "Slavyansky Bazaar" the vocalist became the second, earning high marks for his performing level.
From that moment on, a series of confessions and accomplishments began. Since the end of 1993, Alexander has been awarded the title of the best pop artist in Ukraine. After the fateful turn of his biography, the young man transferred to Kiev, becoming a student at the Moscow National Conservatory.
In 1995, she won the Grand Prix at the Vladimir Ivasyuk International Competition among young performers of contemporary songs. A couple of years later, Ponomarev became an Honored Artist of Ukraine.
The finest hour came after the 1996 "Tavrian Games" festival. The singer was recognized as a new star. Ponomarev left the event as the winner, who literally caught the firebird, the main prize in the Singer of the Year nomination. This was followed by other awards and prestigious music competitions.
At the same time, the first solo disc of the performer "Z ranku until the night" was released with hits - "Sirooke kokhannya", "Vogon", "Z ranku until the night". The songs were played on all radio stations.

A year later, the debut disc "First and Last Love" was also recorded. Most of the compositions were handed over by Ponomarev himself, including texts and music. The album consists of ten songs, including a remix of the hit "Zironka".
In 2000-2001, two albums were released with the names "SHE" and "OH". The first includes the debut composition in English "Guantanamera" and "Saint Anna". The second one accepted “Vin check for her”, “Tilki with you”.
In 2003, Ponomarev became the country's first representative at the Eurovision Song Contest. He performed "Hasta la vista". The singer got the fourteenth place, the Turkish vocalist Sertab Erener became the winner. At the same time, the famous debut of the Russian group Tatu took place with its composition "Don't believe, don't be afraid, don't ask."
The artist took a break for five years. Then he released the album "I love you only." The hit of the same name is often performed on radio broadcasts. The new composition "Heart" has won many awards. The record included a dozen tracks in total. Four of them were remixes of old hits.
In 2007, Alexander created the disc "Nice". He was distinguished by a special rhythm and dance character. Usually calm and lyrical strings were replaced by the most cheerful ones.
The coaching activity of the performer in the "Voice of the Country" project stands apart. The vocalist competed in mentoring with Diana Arbenina. The artists sang together during the show.
In his first season, Ponomarev's finalist, Vladislav Sytnik, came in third. The next season, his ward Maria Yaremchuk was already the last one to reach the final.
Creativity and personal life
Ponomarev also took part in the grandiose project Stars at the Opera. Famous artists of the country competed in the performance of opera arias during the competition. At the end of 2017, Ponomarev announced the beginning of his romance with the already famous singer Maria Yaremchuk. True, a couple of months later a denial followed from the girl.
