Cinema as an art in each country has its own distinctive features. Soviet films were shot in the genre of socialist realism. Paul Butkevich in his appearance and temperament met the given criteria.
Childhood
The creative career of gifted individuals develops in different ways. Each moves along an individual trajectory. The famous Soviet actor Paul Paulovich Butkevich was born on August 8, 1940 in the family of a specialist in the production of vintage wines. Parents lived at that time in Riga. As a child, he went through wartime without much negative experience. From an early age Paul showed musical talent, learned to read early and loved to listen to theatrical radio plays.
When the age approached, Paul began to go to a comprehensive school and attended a music school. Since there was no piano in the house, the boy learned to play the violin. He attended a theater studio and took part in staging amateur performances on the stage of the House of Pioneers. Since the Riga Film Studio was located within the city limits, I often visited there and watched how film actors live.
From vocational school to actors
Having received his secondary education, in 1959 Butkevich entered a vocational school at the famous VEF radio plant. This enterprise produced portable radios known throughout the country and abroad. The future actor worked as an instrument tuner for some time. At the same time, Paul continued to engage in amateur theater. At the same time, he headed the studio of amateur performances at the enterprise. The first major role he was entrusted to play in 1965. The film "The Hippocratic Oath" touched upon ethical problems over which all intellectuals of the Soviet Union racked their brains.
After a successful debut, Butkevich's acting career developed quite successfully. He was invited to participate in various projects, practically at all film studios in the country. Spectators and critics have long and actively discussed the films "Shah Queen of Diamonds" and "Five minutes before the disaster." In fact, in detective stories, the problems of good and evil, love and hate were raised again. Evaluating his work, the actor modestly replied that he was just doing his favorite work.
Personal life plots
In the short biography of the actor, a place is allotted for his personal life. Paul does not hide that he was married three times. The first marriage turned out to be the most durable. Husband and wife have lived under one roof for over a quarter of a century. One can guess about the reasons for the separation and build versions, but what is lost cannot be returned. The second union broke up after a few months. On the third call, after a long pause, Butkevich met a woman.
In 1990 Paul Butkevich received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR. Today this title means nothing in real life. The actor practically does not act in films. Sometimes he holds meetings with spectators who remember bygone times.
