The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, the Federal Security Service and the Main Security Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out a special road raid to identify fake IDs, numbers and flashing lights. Counterintelligence officers tried to find out whether it is legal for people in uniform to use sound and light special signals and operational documents.
The raid took place on the main highways of the capital together with the traffic police. The operatives checked more than a thousand cars, more than a hundred reports on administrative offenses were drawn up. Moreover, the overwhelming majority of violations were committed by drivers, on whose cars there were numbers of privileged series.
The operation began on the morning of September 5 on Mytnaya Street. Traffic inspectors stopped cars with passes under glass and "thieves" numbers. Some drivers, refusing to comply with the demands of the police, tried to put pressure on them and, without giving any reason, insisted on stopping the proceedings. Others showed service certificates of various departments and organizations, including those with the symbols of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. 65 certificates were seized, raising suspicion of their authenticity, and about a hundred false passes to the facilities of the authorities.
FSB officers said that several types of violations were revealed during the raids. Most often, offenders place gaps that obstruct normal vision under the windshield. Usually FSB, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs are written on them, so that the traffic police are afraid to stop such a car.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs insists on imposing legal responsibility on drivers for illegal use of official documents and their forgeries in order to put pressure on traffic police. Counterintelligence officers believe that it is extremely difficult to react to the use of forged documents in the legal field. And this, first of all, is due to the absence of restrictions on the use of abbreviations and symbols of the authorities, in particular on the certificates and documents of public organizations.
Forensic experts say that public organizations that issue passes and certificates for money are not allowed to use symbols. Car inspectors add that the pass does not provide the driver with "protection" and does not give any indulgence on the road.
