A small card, which most often you simply do not notice and, out of habit, carry it in a purse or in "crusts" with documents for a car, rarely takes the driver's attention. As long as she is in place. If your driver's license is lost or stolen, its restoration will add to your hassle, so it is better to immediately understand the procedure for yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
Gather all the required paperwork. Find the driver's test card with which you were released from driving school. If you were trained on an individual basis, it is not required. Prepare a driver's medical certificate (it is valid for three years) or go through the medical examination again. Take your identification document with you. These include: a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation; foreign passport - for persons permanently residing outside of Russia; passport of an officer (warrant officer, midshipman); military ID - for citizens doing military service by conscription or by contract. Going to MREU not at the place of permanent registration, but where you actually live, take with you a certificate of registration at the place of stay.
Step 2
Show a receipt for payment of state fees. For a certificate in the form of a plastic card, you will have to pay 800 rubles, in the form of larger laminated paper - 400 rubles. Making a temporary license for a period of 2 months, which you can ride while you are being issued a permanent certificate, costs 500 rubles. If you ask to replace the license due to physical damage to the document (washed, broken, accidentally cut), present everything that remains of the certificate. This way your application will be processed faster.
Step 3
Write to the MREU traffic police an application for the issuance of a new driver's license to replace the lost (stolen) or worn-out. Your request will be considered within two weeks, and in a maximum of two months new rights will be issued (which will only be distinguished from the old ones by the mark “DUPLICATE”). Temporary permission will need to be surrendered.
