Many years have passed since the end of the Great Patriotic War, but still people are looking for information about the relatives and friends who have gone missing or died in the Second World War, they hope to find out the fate of the soldiers and find a burial place. For these purposes, quite recently, a huge work was started and is still being carried out to digitize the archives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. A unified information and reference system was created, which made such searches accessible and effective.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to the page of the "WBS Memorial" website (follow the link below).
Install, if prompted, if not already installed, the Flash 9 Flash Player, which is required to work with the database.
Step 2
Enter in the active fields the information you have - the last name, first name, patronymic, year of birth and military rank of the person you are interested in, or fill in only those fields about which there is reliable information.
Press the "search" button or the Enter key on your keyboard to activate the search.
Step 3
In the window that opens with the search results, find the information that best matches your information (name, date of birth, address) for a specific person. Here you can go to the page with the complete information available in the archive and available at the time of the request available documents on the cause and date of death, the place of burial.
