If you want to find the address of one of your relatives or old friends, or for any other reason you need detailed and accurate passport details of another person, make a corresponding request to the FMS authorities at his place of residence. The service is free. The only condition is that the person about whom you requested information, when the FMS authorities find him, will have to give his consent to provide you with his data.

Instructions
Step 1
Make a statement according to the template. Indicate in the text: • the name of the person, his date and place of birth; • the reason why you are requesting data for this person; • your name, date and place of birth, passport details, mailing address. Be sure to make a note that you do not object to the provision your data to the wanted person, otherwise you will not be provided with the necessary information. And don't forget to put your personal signature.
Step 2
Send the application by registered mail with a receipt acknowledgment to the address and reference service department of the FMS body at the place of residence of the wanted person. The necessary coordinates (address, phone numbers for inquiries) can be found on the website of the FMS of Russia https://www.fms.gov.ru To do this, select the required region on the interactive map in the upper right corner of the site, click on it with the mouse, and then click on the link “More details”in the pop-up window.
Step 3
Wait a while for the FMS staff to process your request and send you a response. If a person has changed his place of residence, you will be told which territorial authority you should contact. In this case, redirect your request to the new address.
Step 4
Please note that registered users of the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services of Russia can send such requests in electronic form. The request processing time is about three days. At the same time, your application cannot get lost and the answer is guaranteed in any case. The address of the portal is https://www.gosuslugi.ru. A new version of the portal is also available - "Electronic government"
Step 5
Go to the portal and enter the "Personal Account". Find the link "Register". Read the description of the registration procedure, enter your data: full name, SNILS and TIN, and also select the method of delivery of the account activation code to you. If you choose to be delivered by mail, a certified letter with a code will arrive at your home in about a week.
Step 6
Enter the received activation code on the login page of your personal account. To do this, click on the appropriate button (see illustration).
Step 7
Log in to your personal account, specifying SNILS and password. Select the button "Electronic services" in the menu that opens.
Step 8
Select the Federal Migration Service from the list of departments that opens. And then, in the list of available FMS services, find the item "Providing address and reference information".
Step 9
Confirm consent to the provision of personal information and select your region.
Step 10
Fill in all required fields of the opened form. Click on the "Submit Application" button.
Step 11
Control the progress of processing your request in your personal account (the "Applications" button on the main page of your personal account). In addition, you will receive regular e-mail notifications about changes in the status of your request.
