If any Russian can find out about the readiness of his foreign passport using the Internet on the website of the FMS of Russia or the FMS department of his region by the number and series of his internal passport, then for the latter, a similar service is not provided. Only the old-fashioned ways remain: a phone call and a personal visit (depending on what orders are in a particular department) to the FMS or the passport office of the housing office.
Instructions
Step 1
If your department of the FMS or the passport office of the housing office provides information on the readiness of passports by phone, you need to call the appropriate place. You can find out the contact phone number when submitting a set of documents for a passport.
In a conversation, you will have to give your last name, first name and patronymic, possibly an address.
Step 2
If information is not provided by phone, you can contact the territorial department of the FMS or the housing office with a receipt for accepting the set of documents for the passport and present it to the employees of the passport office or the department of the FMS.
If your passport is ready, it will be issued immediately.
Step 3
In some departments of the FMS, lists of ready-made passports are posted in a conspicuous place in front of the entrance or on stands in the lobby. In this case, you are required to visit your territorial division of this service and look for yourself in the list. Lists can be formed alphabetically or by the date the documents are ready.
