Yana Churikova is a popular Russian TV presenter. Such people are usually referred to as “self made woman”. However, she did not become so liberated and sociable at once. According to Churikova herself, when she just started working in journalism, it was often very difficult for her to overcome some internal barrier and just negotiate with someone about an interview.
Childhood and youth
Yana Alekseevna Churikova was born on November 6, 1978 in Moscow. The girl was the only child in the family. Her mother devoted her whole life to the profession of an economist, while her father was in the military. It was the specifics of the work of the head of the family that prompted the whole family to move to Hungary for some time. In a country unfamiliar to herself, little Yana quickly got used to and began to go to a local school. As soon as the Soviet Union collapsed, they had to return to their homeland in Moscow, where the girl was finishing her education in a simple comprehensive school.
Among other things, Yana mastered the vocal art and playing the piano at a music school, from which she graduated with honors. She was motivated by her dream of becoming a famous opera singer like Montserrat Caballe. It is worth noting that the girl was interested in everything. For a while, she even wanted to study to be a paleontologist. She was also attracted by geography. But at one point she realized that there is something in the world that can unite all her dreams. This business was journalism. Thus, the girl began to master the basics of the profession at the School of a Young Journalist. And from the age of 14 she practiced in the newspaper "Glagol". For 4 years she learned how to write various notes and articles on her own.
In 1994 she became the silver medalist of the City Literature Olympiad. All this made Yana even more confident that she was on the right path. In 1995 she became a student of one of the most prestigious universities in the country - Moscow State University. Having enrolled in the course of the television and radio broadcasting department, the aspiring journalist continued to tread her way to success.
Television career
In 1996, Churikova was hired by the private television company ATV, where the girl begins to release her first stories. A year later, she switched to Biz TV. I must say that Yana got there in a not entirely honest way. At an interview with her boss, she said that she was 22 years old, not 19, as she really was, and that she had a lot of experience in the profession of a journalist. Soon the secret became clear, but they did not fire her, because they saw how much love and effort she puts into her business.
In 1998, Biz TV underwent a rebranding, as a result of which it became known as MTV. Young Churikova retained her workplace. Moreover, her career took off. She was not only an ordinary correspondent, but also an editor and producer of a number of television programs on the newly-made channel. Due to the large volume of work, at first she had, in the literal sense of the word, to spend the night at work.
She became really popular with the airing of the program "12 angry viewers", where the girl was in the role of the presenter. After that, Yana Alekseevna was noticed by the country's main television channel.
In 2002, she became the permanent host of the Star Factory musical project, and also annually comments on the Eurovision Song Contest.
At the moment, Yana Alekseevna is the host of the renewed project "12 Angry Viewers" and in parallel with this she is producing a number of shows on Channel One.
Personal life
The first husband of the famous TV presenter was Ivan Tsybin. The couple met in the early 2000s. At first, Ivan did not make any impression on Yana, however, after long courtship on his part, the girl's heart melted, and she agreed to marry him. The wedding took place in 2004. But after 4 years of marriage, their relationship ended.
Then, on the way of the girl, Denis Lazarev met, whom she married in 2011, and two years before that she gave birth to his daughter Taisia. Despite this, in 2015, the couple went through a divorce proceedings. She never became a wife again.
