Childhood and youth
Maya Georgievna Menglet was born in August 1935 in Moscow. Her father was already at that time a famous Soviet theater and film actor, her mother was also an actress, but less famous.
Maya's father left the family and married another woman when the girl was still young. Maya could not forgive her father for betrayal for a long time, and the girl was resolute in character.
Maya's childhood fell on the war, she and her family were evacuated to Dushanbe, but soon returned to Moscow, since her father was in great need of the Satire Theater.
From an early age, Maya studied in a theater studio at the Palace of Pioneers, made progress and even starred in a film by a young director. But the famous parents did not seriously consider their daughter's acting classes, thinking that it would pass with age. But they were wrong.
Education
After school, Maya, together with her colleagues in the theater studio, applied to two theater universities at once, and in the end she chose the Moscow Art Theater School. The parents were not aware of their daughter's plans, thinking that she was going to the Institute of Foreign Languages. When mom and dad found out everything, it was already too late to dissuade her daughter, especially since she had already firmly decided everything.

Personal life
In the life of Maya Menglet there was only one man - Leonid Satanovsky. The young people met while still studying at the theater institute. Maya says she got married early, at eighteen. In fact, the actors lived in a civil marriage for some time, and got married a little later.
In marriage, two sons were born - Alexey and Dmitry. The eldest son chose the acting profession, looking at the example of his parents. But he left Russia early, marrying a German woman and then moving to Australia. The youngest son Dmitry, a chemist and doctor of sciences, soon followed his brother.
Maya and Leonidas have been happily married for 60 years. The spouses have been each other's support and best friends all their lives. Therefore, when Leonidas left this world in 2015, Maya was very upset by this event.
In recent years, Maya Menglet has lived abroad and played at the Montreal Drama Theater. Nevertheless, she remains a citizen of Russia and periodically visits her homeland.
