On October 5, 1961, Irina Metlitskaya was born in the city of Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk Region. She had to go through the divorce of her parents and the move with her mother to Minsk. By chance, Soviet director Igor Dobrolyubov came to their class. He was in search of interesting guys for a role in the film "Schedule for the Day After Tomorrow", which told about the everyday life of students of a physics and mathematics institution.
Irina immediately caught my eye. Among her peers, she stood out for her bright appearance and her serious look beyond her years. She was offered to play the role of Katya Shumeiko, and the future actress agreed.
This event predetermined the further creative destiny. Having entered the physics and mathematics special school, Irina studied for only a year and left for Moscow to conquer the acting Olympus. She entered the Shchukin School, where she studied with Evgeny Dvorzhetsky and Elena Kazarinova.

Metlitskaya successfully graduates from college and continues to try herself in acting in the troupe of the Sovremennik theater, where she was enrolled in her fourth year. The theater presented her with many memorable roles in famous productions: "Steep Route", "Little Demon", "Stars in the Morning Sky". She was noticed by Oleg Tabakov, and then by Roman Viktyuk, with whom she shone in the performances "Lolita" and "Madame Butterfly" in the early 90s.

The film actress married Sergei Gazzarov. Their love lasted 14 years. The couple had two sons. Their union was considered ideal. The family appeared everywhere together and did not give reason for stupid rumors and gossip.
After the announcement of the terrible diagnosis, Sergei fought for his wife's life until the last day. However, leukemia is very insidious. In the summer of 1997, Irina Metlitskaya was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery.
