It is difficult to foresee all possible life circumstances. Sometimes troubles come quite unexpectedly and fall on an unprepared person, crushing his will and plunging him into the abyss of panic. The news of the war takes a person by surprise.
Instructions
Step 1
Do not give in to panic, but do not sit idly by, get ready for possible military action. War rarely comes quite suddenly, it can be recognized by some changes in society: the escalation of the situation, inadequate attitude towards representatives of different nationalities, rumors and whispers in the queues of shops.
Step 2
Walk around the apartment and look at familiar things from the other side - home furnishings can be useful to protect your home from attacks by marauders.
Step 3
Take a weapon, if you have one, walk around the apartment and try to find the most successful places for defense. See what is the angle of fire from the windows. It is not recommended to fire in the closed space of the apartment, since there is a high risk of getting into one of the family members.
Step 4
Beware of marauders. Usually these are loners who are driven to robbery by hunger or thirst for easy money. However, there may also be entire gangs that are capable of disguising themselves as the police. One family will not be able to resist them, so unite with your neighbors. Please note that marauders can send women and children to scout.
Step 5
Create self-defense groups, then design fortifications that would block the entrance to the courtyard. It is reasonable to place two or three people on duty near the fortified entrance. Use furniture, boards, sandbags for fences.
Step 6
Find and arrange a shelter. This could be a bricked cellar with a reinforced roof. An emergency exit, a suitable place for a toilet, a flask of water, a ventilation system is required. Insulate the floor of the cellar with boards and think about how it will be heated in the cold season. For shelter, you can also use the basement, in which you need to insulate the floor and walls, find a place for a toilet and storage of water.
Step 7
Next, think about collecting water. Keep drinking water in large jars. For this, there must be a separate dish. Do not rely on water pipes, which can be seriously damaged by bomb attacks. Look for additional sources of water immediately after the outbreak of hostilities. It can be stored in hospitals, fire departments, military units, and in city water reservoirs. After disconnecting the water supply, some water may remain in the pipes. You can get to it through the water supply well on the street.
Step 8
Start looking for food. After home food supplies run out, you will have to look for food in abandoned warehouses and grocery stores. Fishing is another source of food in times of war.
Step 9
Get used to being respectful of the military, who can conduct centralized identity checks and search for unregistered weapons in homes. Listen carefully to the instructions of people in uniform with shoulder straps and weapons. Disobedience can end up sadly. Treat multiple testing procedures with understanding.
