Places where the ozone layer is noticeably thinner are called ozone holes. This layer has always become thinner, not only due to the harmful effects of human activity. The destruction of the ozone layer occurs due to the chemical bond with hydrogen, bromine, methane, chlorine, etc. As a result, it forms completely different chemical compounds, but after a while this oxygen modification accumulates again.

Plants, factories, transport, various household appliances increase the content of substances in the atmosphere that deplete the ozone layer, and its thinning occurs faster than recovery. The very first ozone hole appeared over Antarctica, because the sun's rays needed to form ozone are not enough in this place.

Now ozone holes have appeared over the Arctic, and the ozone layer in the atmosphere is also decreasing. You can prevent new holes from forming by using less vehicle use. If the distance to your destination is short, walk. Do not spray unnecessarily air fresheners and all other sprays, they also contain substances that deplete the ozone layer.
