Captivity

In September 1941, Pavel Vasilyevich was captured. It follows from his testimony that on September 2 he drove to the city of Konotop, and was captured by German soldiers on the way. His documents, weapons, orders were taken away from him.

Then follows Chistov's very implausible statement that his party card was returned to him. Soon he was even able to destroy this document. But, it is known that the Nazis did not spare the Bolsheviks, and, having taken the party card, would hardly have returned it to its owner.

As Chistov said, while in captivity, he worked underground. But from the testimony of some eyewitnesses, it follows that Pavel Vasilyevich behaved passively in captivity, developed projects for residential barracks, baths and supervised these construction projects. And he joined the underground on the eve of liberation in 1945.
