The folk tale about the teremok, which became home to many animals and destroyed by a bear, was literally processed by many Russian writers. The plot and the set of characters in the fairy tale are slightly different for different authors of "Teremka". Who wrote "Teremok" and what features do different versions of this tale have?
"Teremok" by Mikhail Bulatov: one of the most popular versions of the tale
One of the most popular versions of the fairy tale "Teremok" is a literary treatment of a folk story by the writer and folklorist Mikhail Bulatov, who specialized in oral creativity of the peoples of the USSR.
“There is a teremok in the field. He is not low, not high "- these words begin" Teremok "in Bulatov's retelling. At first, a mouse-louse settles in the house, then a frog-frog and a runaway bunny join it. Then they invite the little fox-sister to live with them, and the last tenant of the house is the top-gray barrel. They invited the animals to their place and the clubfoot bear, but he could not fit in the house, tried to climb onto the roof and eventually crushed the teremok. But no one was hurt, all the inhabitants of the fairytale house remained intact, and as a result, at the end of the fairy tale, they built a new tower for themselves - better than the previous one. It is not known, however, whether a bear took part in this construction - the plot is silent about this.
Alexey Tolstoy's plot: a teremok from a pot
Alexei Nikolaevich Tolstoy was also seriously involved in preparing collections of Russian folk tales for printing, and the fairy tale "Teremok" under his editorship can be found quite often.
In Tolstoy's version, a clay pot lost by a peasant acts as a tower, and insects first become its tenants: a bitter fly and a squeaky mosquito. Then small living creatures settle in the house - a biting mouse and a frog-frog. Then - a crooked-legged zayunok, gallop along the hill; a fox - a beauty when talking, and finally - a wolf-wolf - from behind a bush a snatch. The last, as usual, comes the bear, sits on the pot and crushes it, scaring away all the inhabitants of the house. Moreover, in this version of the tale, the bear destroys the teremok not accidentally, but purposefully, announcing that he is "a weaker to everyone."
By the way, Tolstoy's version with an adaptation for housing a pot is very close to many folk versions of a fairy tale, where lost dishes, mittens, and even animal skulls can act as a tower.
The author of "Teremka" with a happy ending: Vladimir Suteev
The famous children's writer and illustrator Vladimir Suteev also did not pass by "Teremka". His author's edition of the famous fairy tale was accompanied by the author's vivid and memorable illustrations.
"Teremok", the author of which is Vladimir Suteev, begins with the fact that Mukha-Goriukha flew through the forest, sat down to rest and suddenly saw a teremok in the grass - and settled in it. She was followed by the Mouse-Norushka, the Frog-Kvakushka, then - the Cockerel-Golden Scallop and finally the Hare-Runner. All the animals asked permission to live in the house - and everyone was gladly invited to join the friendly company of residents. But the Bear, who asked to enter the house to hide from the rain, was refused, is too big. Then the frozen Bear decided to warm himself up on the roof near the warm chimney of the house and crushed the teremok. But the Bear turned out to be polite - he asked for forgiveness. The beasts forgave him, but on condition that he would help rebuild the house. And they together built a new house, where six of them fit, and there was still room for guests.
Of all the versions of Teremka, this one is perhaps the kindest and friendliest, it is not surprising that both children and adults love it so much.
Terem in the hollow: the plot of Vitaly Bianchi
One of the most, perhaps, the original author's versions of the fairy tale "Teremok" was written by the writer Vitaly Bianchi. In his children's books, he revealed the secrets of nature to young readers, and his version of the famous fairy tale is much closer to real forest life, in which a wolf and a hare are unlikely to live peacefully together.
In this unusual "Teremka" the author assigned the role of a house to a hollow of an old oak tree. Its first tenant is a woodpecker - he himself gouged a hollow, built a nest, brought out the chicks, and then flew away for the winter. The starling found out about the empty hollow - and occupied the empty teremok, began to live in it. A couple of years passed, the oak crumbled, the hollow became large - and then a predatory owl flew in and drove out the starling. Then the owl chased the squirrel away, the squirrel - the marten, and that in turn "pushed" a swarm of bees out of the hollow, and the old oak crumbled, the hollow expanded … And finally the bear came and broke the rotten tree.
