Some questions can easily drive a person into a dead end. To prevent this from happening, you should know the technique of avoiding a direct question.
Instructions
Step 1
Ask a counter question.
The best tactic is offense. Therefore, if you were asked an incorrect question, answer either with a similar question, or with a question from a completely different field. This is what politicians and celebrities most often do with obsessive questions.
Step 2
Leave the question unanswered.
No one will ever be able to force you to answer the question to which you do not want to answer. To do this, pretend that you did not hear the speaker or pretend that you did not understand what it was about.
Step 3
Respond spatially.
If an answer to a question is still required, try to use all your gift of eloquence, using as many general, non-binding words in your answer as possible.
Step 4
Please clarify.
In order to get away from the answer, you can constantly clarify and ask your opponent again. Firstly, by doing so you will show your real interest, and secondly, you will discourage any desire to continue such a groundless conversation.
Step 5
Ask directly.
If you suspect bad intentions of the interlocutor, do not hesitate to ask directly what answer he is seeking. Most likely, he will be confused, because you will be able to completely switch your attention to his person.
Step 6
Flattery.
If you were asked an overly abstruse question to which you do not know the answer, then it is worth praising your opponent for his intelligence and resourcefulness. Most often, after such flattering words, the person begins to thank you, and everyone forgets about the recent question.
Step 7
Answer honestly, "I don't know."
Even if you know the answer to a provocative question, you shouldn't say it right away. You can pretend that you haven’t thought about this question yet or that you don’t know the exact answer.
Step 8
Raise your tone and cut off the other person.
Sometimes it happens that a question affects an overly intimate part of our life. If this happens, then you need to raise the tone, and, without hesitation, break off the dialogue.
