Starting conditions

According to the recollections of relatives and friends, Vladimir Andreevich Kachan grew up as a sickly child. He had symptoms of tuberculosis and even rickets. Outwardly, he was thick and clumsy. The parents took all possible steps to improve the boy's health. They showed it to experienced doctors, bought expensive and scarce medicines. Such procedures continued until the teenager made an independent decision - to enroll in the athletics section. A year later, he took first place in the 60m race in the school championship.

The future theater and film actor was born on May 18, 1947 in a military family. Parents at that time lived in the Far Eastern city of Ussuriisk. When Vladimir was five years old, his father was transferred to a new duty station in the city of Riga on the Baltic Sea coast. When the age approached, the boy was enrolled in a high school with a technical bias. Fate wanted Vladimir Kachan and Mikhail Zadornov to be in the same class. The friendship between them began from the first school days and lasted until old age.

On stage and at the desk

Already at school, Kachan began to actively attend classes in the theater studio. He played various roles in amateur performances. Starting from the seventh grade, he attended vocal classes at the city Palace of Pioneers. It is not surprising that having received a certificate of maturity, the young man went to Moscow and entered the Shchukin Theater School. Many actors, directors and screenwriters who later became famous were on the same stream with him. With the famous actor Leonid Filatov, a visiting student from Riga was settled in the same dorm room.

It was here, in the hostel, that Kachan and Filatov wrote their first songs, which became real hits. This is confirmed by the song "Orange Cat". After graduating from college, the certified actor was assigned to serve in the Moscow Theater of the Young Spectator. After a short period of time, they began to trust him with the main roles in repertoire performances. Kachan managed not only to enter the theater stage, but also to work in the cinema. He splendidly performed the cavalier's romance in the film "The Captivating Star of Happiness."

Recognition and privacy

For many years, Vladimir Kachan collaborated with his friend Mikhail Zadornov. They performed on stage and recorded records that sold millions of copies throughout the country. For his great contribution to the development of Russian culture, Vladimir Andreevich was awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of the Russian Federation".

Kachan's personal life turned out well. He only married once. The actor met his future wife at a rehearsal in the theater. Husband and wife live under the same roof. They had a son who also became an actor.
