Childhood and youth

According to some film critics, Vladimir Abramovich Etush could act in films more often. There is some truth in this statement. However, this fact confirms that the actor was very careful, even scrupulous about the offers to play on stage or go to the set. The future People's Artist of the Soviet Union was born on May 6, 1922 in a wealthy family. Parents lived in Moscow. My father was engaged in the production of haberdashery goods. The mother took care of the household and looked after the children.

The political situation in the 1920s was tense. The head of the family, as a former Nepman, was arrested and sentenced to a long term. However, a year later he was released and even paid monetary compensation for the inconvenience caused. Vladimir grew up as an intelligent and sociable child. I always found a common language with peers. I studied well at school. He loved history and literature. He actively participated in amateur performances. I read poetry from the stage with expression. In high school, he already knew that he would become an actor. In 1940 he received a certificate of maturity and entered the Shchukin Theater School.

On the creative path

When the war began, Vladimir volunteered for the front, despite the fact that students of theater schools were given a "reservation". Etush served in the infantry. In 1943, while crossing the Dnieper, he was seriously wounded. After long-term treatment, by the decision of the medical commission, he was assigned the 2nd disability group and was dismissed. Returning to his native school, Etush continued his studies. After graduating from college, the certified actor entered the service at the Vakhtangov Drama Theater. It cannot be said that the creative career of Vladimir Abramovich developed rapidly.

At first, he was loaded with supporting roles and involved in extras. But time passed and the talent of the actor was revealed from performance to performance. Etush first appeared on the screen in the film "Admiral Ushakov". He organically got used to the image of the Turkish naval commander Seid Pasha. The actor superbly succeeded in sharp-character and comedic roles. Suffice it to recall the images of the dentist Shpak in the film "Ivan Vasilyevich Changes His Profession" and Karabas-Barabas in the children's film "The Adventures of Buratino".

Recognition and privacy

Vladimir Abramovich not only went on stage and set. For many years he taught acting at the Shchukin Theater Institute. The homeland appreciated his contribution to the development of Russian culture. Etush was awarded the honorary title of People's Artist of the Soviet Union. On his chest there are four Orders of Merit for the Fatherland.

The personal life of Vladimir Abramovich was stormy. He was married four times. All the marriage unions left a daughter, who also became an actress. Etush died in March 2019 from cardiac arrest.
