Brief biography of the Russian-Austrian UFC mixed martial arts wrestler Mayrbek Vakhaevich Taisumov: facts from life, education, family, career, fights and their outcome.
Mayrbek Vakhaevich Taysumov is a Russian-Austrian UFC lightweight wrestler. By the age of 30, he won 26 fights, and lost only 5. Experts predict further career growth for him and note the unsurpassed talent of the athlete. So, coach Roger Huerta called him the second George St. Pierre and admitted that he was glad to have the opportunity to train with such an outstanding fighter.
Very soon, on September 15, Mayrbek Taysumov or Bekkhan, as his working pseudonym sounds, will have another fight in Moscow with the American Desmond Green, nicknamed the Predator. In the meantime, everyone is in anticipation of a bright spectacle.
Biography and personal life
Mayrbek Taysumov was born in Grozny, but in 2002 he moved with his family to Austria, where he received his education and still lives, but at the same time retained Russian citizenship. As a child, he was very fond of football, was an active player and a member of the youth team "Austria-13". However, by 2007, the athlete revised his hobbies and became interested in jiu-jitsu. This happened quite by accident due to a friendly dispute with a classmate who gave him a mentor's card and offered to try his hand at a new sport.
From the very first fight in Germany in February 2007, Taisumov showed great skill and confidently continued the series of victories. Now he also trains another UFC fighter - his compatriot Arbi Aguev.
Not much is known about Bekkhan's personal life - he never advertises it. In an interview with Discours magazine correspondent Sapiyat Dakhshukayeva, the wrestler said that he has four brothers and one sister, and that he loves to spend his free time with his family. The athlete does not mention his wife or child anywhere.
Career
Mayrbek Taisumov's career began with the famous fight with Czech Vaclav Pribil on February 24, 2007, when Bekhan won a lightning victory using a painful hold, after which the opponent was forced to surrender.
The next fight took place in Prague in 2008, and Taysumov knocked out Yaroslav Poborsky in the second minute.
In the same year, two more successful fights took place with Oto Merlin and Maxim Usmaniev, during which Bekkhan set a personal record for the tournament finished ahead of schedule.
The athlete suffered his first defeat in a competition with the Slovakian Ivan Buchinger, falling into a capture and surrendering, and six months later he “balanced” this unpleasant fact with an absolute victory over the Danish David Rosmon.
On May 23, 2009, after a five-minute battle with Vener Galiev, Taysumov lost by the decision of the judges.
This is followed by a series of victories over such fighters as Julien Bussage, Sergey Adamchuk, Petr Kajnek, Boris Mankovsky, Markus Niskanen, Yuri Ivlev, Luka Poklit, Alan Patrick Silva, and only three defeats, and only one was due to a knockout, and the rest were counted by the board judges.
Taysumov's career was somewhat hampered by problems with obtaining a visa to the United States. The reason was the athlete's positive statements about the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, who was included in the notorious "Magnitsky list". Because of this, the Austrian public organization Not in God’s name also stopped working with the MMA fighter.
The September fight between Bekhan and Desmond Green was also under threat, because the latter was injured in an accident, but his representatives assured the audience that the fight would take place anyway.
