The Australian group "Savage Garden", which appeared in the late nineties, literally charmed all listeners with both songs and videos. Darren Hayes was the soloist, Daniel Jones played guitar and keyboards. A few years later, much to the chagrin of fans, the group ceased to exist.
The majority of the Savage Garden audience were teenagers. However, older listeners also liked melodic compositions and high-quality vocals.
Successful project
The idea for the creation belonged to Daniel Jones. His band "Red Edge", in which the musician played, appeared in 1993. In search of a vocalist, Jones turned to the newspaper with an audition. The only one interested in casting was Darren Hayes, then a student. He told the potential employer about his team concept.
As a result, the duo "Crush" was born, whose members themselves wrote both the music and the words. Upon learning that there were several more bands with the same name, the guys changed their name to "Savage Garden", inspired by the work of Anne Rice. The debut single "I Want You" was released in July 1996. In Australia, the new album was an unprecedented success.
The song was nominated half a month after its premiere for the "Aria" award. In the Billboard charts, the composition took a more than prestigious position for its debut.
Successes
An even greater triumph awaited "To The Moon and Back". The hit entered the top 30 in the United States. In 1997 the musicians presented the album "Savage Garden". At that time, the songs of the duet had already become world hits.
The ten Aria award winning musicians have appeared on The Future Of Earthly Delites outside of the country. The compositions "Universe" and "Break Me Shake Me" became cult. The participants who had traveled to different countries created a new collection "Affirmation".
Two videos were filmed for the song "I Want You". The first video was an Australian low-budget. The more expensive video was filmed for overseas screening. The video sequence is kept in a futuristic style.
Clips
As many as three videos prepared for the hit single "To The Moon and Back". On the first, the musicians were in a spaceship, the second video captured both in the apartment. The third showed a sad girl's trip on the subway.
"Truly Madly Deeply" in the original Australian version - Hayes sings, Jones plays the piano. For Europe, the video was filmed as a story of separated lovers.

Life after glory
In early October 2001, information appeared about the impending breakup of the group. The reason was called the recording of a solo album by Darren. After a pause, the duo did not reunite, and after 5 years the musicians presented a disc with the best songs "Truly Madly Completely: The Best of Savage Garden". It went platinum.
By the twentieth anniversary of the band's creation, a new collection "The Singles" has appeared. It includes an unreleased demo version of "She" made in 1994.
After the departure of Hayes, a successful solo career awaited. Powdered Sugar was founded in 2006 by Darren. However, he created comedy podcasts, realizing that he could not repeat the previous success.
Both ex-members agree that "Savage Garden" is a lifetime of the past.
