Biography and filmography of Mikhail Kozakov

The future famous actor and director was born in Leningrad in a cultural family closely related to literature (father Mikhail Emmanuilovich Kozakov is a writer, mother Zoya Aleksandrovna Gatskevich is an editor). Jewish and Greco-Serbian blood flowed in the veins of our hero, which affected his appearance and mentality.

After the end of World War II, Mikhail Kozakov returned to Leningrad from the Krasnokamsk region and entered the choreographic school, after which he left for Moscow and continued his education at the Moscow Art Theater School. In his student years, his career as a film actor also started. His successful debut in Murder on Dante Street took place together with other future movie stars: Innokentiy Smoktunovsky and Valentin Gaft. And then there was a series of films that brought him real fame.

After the release in 1961 of the legendary film "The Amphibian Man", where our hero got the role of Zurit, he became a real idol of millions of Soviet cinema audiences. However, his workload in theatrical life exceeds the cinematic one. After graduating from high school, Mikhail worked at Mayakovka for three years, then moved to Sovremennik for fifteen years, and in 1971 he stayed at the Moscow Art Theater for a year and entered the service at the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya.

In the "seventies" Kozakov made his debut in directing. Since the shooting of the film "Night of Errors" in 1975, the list of his film projects has grown without fail. The paintings "The Nameless Star", "Pokrovskie Gates", "The Lady's Visit", "According to Lopotukhin", "Masquerade" made the name of Mikhail Mikhailovich so famous that he entered the Soviet directorial elite.

From 1992 to 1996, Kozakov spent in exile in Israel. But, despite the active creative work in a foreign land, the soul could not stand the Western mentality, and he was forced to return to his homeland. Upon his return, he immediately created Mikhail Kozakov's Russian Entreprise. In the "zero" our hero is actively filming and filming. Of particular interest are his painting "The Copper Granny" and the mini-series "The Charm of Evil", which tell in detail about the state of the Russian emigration.

In the next unsuccessful marriage with the artist-restorer Medea Berelashvili, which lasted three years, the daughter Manana was born. The divorce was very scandalous and unpleasant for both parties.

The third marriage lasted eighteen years, but did not bring any new children. His wife Regina, according to rumors from the artistic environment, simply turned a blind eye to many of her husband's novels, including with Anastasia Vertinskaya.

At the age of 55, Mikhail Kozakov started a new family. The last chosen one of the artist - Anna Yampolskaya - was a quarter of a century younger than him, but this did not bother both of them. In this union, a son Mikhail and a daughter Zoya were born.
