A seaman's passport is a document that certifies the identity of a person both on the territory of the Russian Federation and abroad. It is issued to citizens of our country for work on Russian ships of foreign navigation or for sending to foreign ships, as well as cadets of relevant educational institutions, employees of executive authorities and those who work in various institutions under the jurisdiction of these bodies.

If in the course of work you cross the border of the Russian Federation and travel abroad, then do not forget to apply for visas of those countries that you will visit.

Also remember that a seaman's passport has a validity period of 5 years, then it must be replaced, as it is considered invalid. However, keep in mind that you can enter the territory of the Russian Federation through it within a year after its expiration.

To obtain a seaman's passport, you will certainly need to confirm the level of professional training and health status. To do this, take the following documents with you: a working diploma, a medical examination certificate, a qualified certificate.

To obtain a seaman's passport, fill out 3 application forms (each must have your photograph), certify the questionnaires with a photo at the place of work. Also provide the ship owner's petition for issuing a seaman's passport and pay the state duty.
