Now more and more people dream of making money by publishing books, but many fail at the very first stage - sending the manuscript to the publisher. Learn about simple rules that will speed up the review of your book and influence the editor's decision.
Instructions
Step 1
Create a text document and title it "About the Author". In the document, indicate the following data: full name, contact phone number (both home and cell phone), information about publications, if you have any, title of the work, volume (number of characters with spaces), genre. It is advisable to indicate each item on a new line and separate the information about the author and the work with two spaces.
Step 2
Make a synopsis of your piece. The synopsis is a summary. Perhaps you will cut out some chapters or cut the details. Find out the publisher's requirements for this item. Some require an abbreviated version, some only the first chapters. A number of leading publishing houses, for example EKSMO, do not ask to send a synopsis at all.
Step 3
Write an announcement. The announcement should not contain more text than a page. You should summarize the essence of your creation by answering the question "What is my book about?"
Step 4
Write an additional one or two paragraphs to be placed at the beginning of the book. This is necessary in order to interest the reader. Some publishers write this material themselves, but if you submit it, it won't get any worse. Write in a separate text document
Step 5
Submit the entire book if requested by the publisher. In total, you should get five documents, if you count with the work itself. By submitting them, you will speed up the review of the book by the editor. Good luck to you!
