Mixed martial arts fighter Rasul Mirzaev is known in the ring as "Black Tiger". The general public became known after the manslaughter of a Moscow student Ivan Agafonov. After serving his sentence, he continued his sports career.
Biography: childhood and adolescence
Rasul Rabadanovich Mirzaev was born on March 30, 1986 in the Dagestan city of Kizlyar. His parents divorced when he was still a baby. The mother "pulled" her two sons alone. Rasul's childhood was difficult. And not only in terms of finances, but also in terms of health. He was often ill and was treated for tuberculosis for four years. The doctors told the mother that Rasul would have a disability for life. However, the doctors' predictions were not confirmed.
Mirzaev was a hyperactive child. As a child, he often moved because of his mother, who was offered a job in one or another city. Rasul constantly participated in fights, because in the new place he had to somehow assert himself so as not to be branded as a weakling and not to become a "scapegoat".
Soon, the mother decided to send her sons to a sports boarding school so that they would not wander with her in different cities. There Rasul started boxing. He escaped from the boarding school several times. In an interview, Mirzaev admitted that he did it in order to show his character. The administration of the boarding school did not tolerate the antics of the obstinate pupil for a long time. The brothers were taken to his uncle, who soon enrolled Rasul in the free-style wrestling section.
After school, Mirzaev immediately went to the army. Served in Vladimir, in the tank forces. The leadership of the unit gave him the go-ahead for training. He was also ordered to put together a team of soldiers for the competition. Soon Mirzaev took up army hand-to-hand fighting. After one of the fights, he was offered to participate in the military school championship. After demobilization, Rasul entered it and began to play for his team already as a student. However, he then dropped out of training.
Career
Rasul began performing in the professional ring as a sambist. In 2009, he made his MMA debut with a win. During his career, he has achieved many titles. So, on the account of Mirzaev:
- Russian championship of Russia in MMA in weight up to 60 kg;
- Pankration World Cup;
- world championship in combat sambo;
- world championship in weight up to 65 kg according to Fight Nights in the framework of "Battle of Moscow - 4".
In August 2011, Rasul's sports career came to an end. On August 13, near the Moscow club "Garage", after a verbal quarrel, Mirzaev hit 19-year-old student Ivan Agafonov in the cheekbone. He fell and hit his head on the asphalt, lost consciousness, but then woke up. Friends took him to the hospital, where the guy was diagnosed with cerebral edema. Three days later, the student died in intensive care. Rasul was tried under the article "Causing death by negligence." In the same year, he was disqualified by the Russian Sambo Federation.
Mirzaev was released after a year and a half. He immediately started training. And he even tried to compete in the professional ring again. However, he could not return to his previous level. He fought his last fight in 2016, being defeated by Levan Makashvili.
Personal life
Rasul Mirzaev was married to a Russian girl Tatyana Vinogrodskaya. For his sake, she even converted to Islam. In 2009, the couple had a daughter. A year and a half later, Rasul and Tatiana divorced. Judging by the personal page on one of the social networks, Mirzaev is now in an active search for a candidate for the role of the second wife.
