Rasul Karambulatov - Bashkir kuraist, one of the organizers of the "Caravanserai" group. People's Artist of the Republic heads the Bashkir State Philharmonic named after Khusain Akhmetov
According to a document registered in the spring of 2018, the place of origin of the kurai is Bashkiria. It was the Bashkirs who invented a wind musical instrument resembling a longitudinal open flute, although other peoples of the country also have similar sybyzgy, kamyl, shoor and kardy-tuyduk.
The road to vocation
The famous artist Vakil Shugayupov became the first manufacturer of kurai not from the pericarp, but from veneer. The tools made of natural materials were distinguished by fragility, while the man-made ones turned out to be more reliable.
In this republic, the biography of Rasul Rafikovich began in 1968. He was born in the village of Sredny Muynak on March 18. In the family, no one was deprived of creative abilities. Mom sang great, dad played the mandolin beautifully. A talented self-taught grandfather who learned to brilliantly play the violin was.
In his native village, almost no one played a national instrument. A fellow villager taught the skills of playing an agile, smart kid. However, the future musician did not think about professional education in this direction. He dreamed of a vocal career, saw himself on the stage.
Together with his father, the boy decided to go to Ufa to enter the school. The nimble boy was known as a real problem for school teachers. He was constantly naughty in the classroom and received comments. For this reason, the high school student decided that he would enter after the eighth grade.
After school, the graduate began to implement his plans. At the vocal department, a talented applicant was refused due to age. The guy was told that at fifteen, his voice begins to break. Therefore, in the transitional age, students are not taken.
The desperate boy was seen by Rishat Rakhimov, a famous kuraist. He suggested that he become a kuraist. The hearing test and demonstration of playing techniques went quickly. After giving a little time to independently study the capabilities of the instrument, the musician left his future student.
The musician was drafted into the army after completing his studies. Then education continued at the Ismagilov State Academy of Arts.
Improving skill
During his studies, the student organized a group "Caravanserai". With her help, kurai entered the big stage in the late eighties. Very quickly, its members became recognizable. The tour began. Rasul did not stop improving.
He listened to the famous improvisers on the folk instrument Gatu Suleimanov and Ishmulla Dilmukhametov, modernized the technique, not forgetting that the basis of skill is the traditional manner of playing. The beginning musician gave preference to Gata Suleimanov.
Each performer has his own playing style. Rasul chose the folk tradition. The group "Amanat" was also engaged in combining the folk instrument with others. In the school, folk songs were played with the orchestra on the kurai. For groups with such a member, the composers did not try to compose anything.
The combination caused a stir. It was very difficult to imagine such an unexpected synthesis. The debut of the collective took place in the hall of the Institute of Arts in early spring. The programs were shown in advance in the districts of the republic during the tour in order to see the reaction of the audience.
The group was helped to become a part of the Philharmonic, they supported the initiative. The team acquired equipment, received transport for travel. The musicians were able to open a studio.
In 1991 Rasul became the winner of the republican competition of kuraists named after Yumambay Isyanbayev, dedicated to the centenary anniversary of the outstanding musician.
All facets of talent
After completing his studies in the musical direction, Rasul headed the House of Culture of his native village. He was involved in organizing concerts and various events. Mom invited her son to try his hand at the theater. She found an advertisement for the recruitment of young men to the theater department. Karabulatov dreamed of the glory of a singing actor. He was lucky to learn from Rifkat Israfilov.
The vigorous activity in the musical field developed by the students caused a real shock to the master. He believed that guys could leave the artistic profession by becoming musicians. The alarm was justified. In the nineties, the group became incredibly popular. For a long time Israfilov could not believe in the departure of talented artists, roles in new productions were already ready for them.
From 1994 to 1996, Karabulatov worked at the National Youth Theater of the republic. He played one of the most interesting roles for himself as Salavat Yulaev, in a production based on the work of Mustai Karim “Salavat. Seven dreams through reality. Simultaneously with the performances on stage, the musician tried to tour with the group. The combination turned out to be impossible.
The artist starred in several musical films. His characters are the heroes of Bashkortostan, both parts of Familiar Strangers. Karabulatov also performed the main characters in the feature films "The Seventh Summer of Syumbel", "Long, Long Childhood".
Since 2006 Rasul Rafikovich has been the head of the Ufa "House of Friendship", a city leisure and cultural center. More than two thousand children from three years old are engaged in it. Since 2007 he has been the General Director of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Belarus "Congress Hall". Since the end of 2010, Karabulatov has been appointed head of the Akhmetov Republican State Philharmonic.
The artist's personal life has developed happily. He and his wife Aigul Kadimovna had two children. Daughter Gulnur studies at the State University of Art and Culture in St. Petersburg, son Ilyas works at the Bashkir State Philharmonic Society as a dancer in the "Caravanserai" group.
