Valery Klimov is a well-known musician, violinist, multiple winner of prestigious competitions. The performer was awarded the title of Honored and People's Artist of the RSFSR, and is also a People's Artist of the USSR.
Valery Aleksandrovich Klimov was born in 1931, October 16, in Kiev. His father was a renowned conductor. From an early age, the boy demonstrated a talent for music. The first lessons were given to his son by Alexander Ignatievich.
The path to the musical Olympus
From the age of seven, Valery entered a special school in Odessa for musically gifted children. The secrets of masterly mastering the instrument were revealed to the young virtuoso. He studied with Peter Stolyarsky, an outstanding teacher and professor.

Two years later, the young violinist moved to the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. He got into the class of world-famous musician David Oistrakh. In 1956, under his leadership, Klimov completed his education and in 1959 completed his postgraduate studies.
Even during his student days, success came to the performer. He became the winner of the violin competition at the Third World Youth and Student Berlin Festival in 1955, laureate of the International Paris Competition.
At the Prague Spring, the Joseph Slavik Violin Tournament, in 1956 he won first prize. Valeriy also became the first at the Frantisek Ondrizechek tournament in Prague.

Since 1957, Klimov has been a soloist at the Moscow Philharmonic. In 1958 he became world famous for winning the first International Tchaikovsky Competition. His talent was noted by Aram Khachaturyan, who was included in the international jury.

He played at world famous venues: the Great Hall of the Metropolitan Conservatory, New York Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, London Albert Hall, Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Sydney Opera House.

The personal life of the performer also developed successfully. He is married. His wife Raisa Mikhailovna, a singer, gave him a daughter, Tatyana, in 1961. She became a pianist.
