The process of acquiring a new citizenship takes a lot of time and effort. Having finally received the coveted passport, many forget that it is necessary to formalize the refusal of belonging to another state. If you want to renounce the citizenship of Ukraine, contact its embassy on the territory of the country in which you now live.
Instructions
Step 1
You can apply for refusal if you permanently reside outside Ukraine. That is, you have been removed from registration in Ukraine, issued a permit to leave and permanently reside abroad, you have permission from the migration authorities of another state for registration, temporary residence or a residence permit.
Step 2
Contact the Ukrainian embassy on the territory of the country in which you permanently reside. You must have a package of documents with you. This is a certificate stating that you will have or have already accepted an application for obtaining another citizenship. Or it can be an already received passport of the country of residence and 4 copies of all its completed pages.
Step 3
Take your Ukrainian passport with you. It must contain a permit to travel abroad for permanent residence. From it also remove 4 copies of the filled pages.
Step 4
At the embassy, take the standard forms of application for renunciation of citizenship. Fill them in four copies and attach a color photograph of 35x45 mm to each one.
Step 5
Pay the state fee for renouncing citizenship. This can be done at the embassy or bank branch. Attach the receipt of payment to the rest of the documents. If everything is completed correctly, your application will be sent to the President of Ukraine for consideration.
