In the Soviet Union, experienced and trained people and talented production organizers were appointed at the head of collective farms, at production sites, in brigades and on farms. And if they managed to overfulfill the assigned tasks - five-year plans, increase the pace of production, then, in addition to universal respect and honor, they were awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor and other honorary awards. Likewise, the activities of Aleksandra Evdokimova, head of the Kostroma collective farm, in the middle of the 20th century, did not go unnoticed by the authorities, and she became an honorary worker.

Childhood and adolescence of A. I. Evdokimova

She was born in the village of the Kostroma region. The girl's populous family was not rich, her parents were from peasants, her father was a worker of average income, Ivan Yegorov. Alexandra Ivanovna was the 13th child in the family.

The girl, having before her eyes an example of how her parents and numerous brothers and sisters go to work on the collective farm every day, also grew up very hardworking, from childhood she was active and responsible. After studying four classes at a local rural school, having mastered the basics of literacy and numeracy, without receiving any other education, in 1922 she got a job in her father's farm collective farm, where she worked until 1934. There she was noticed by the future spouse.

In 1934, she married a man from a neighboring village, Sergei Evdokimov. And she took his last name, which she did not change until the end of her life. After getting married, she changed her place of residence and work. Alexandra Evdokimova moved to her husband in the village of Petrilovo and was immediately recruited to the Petrilovo collective farm as a laborer.

In 1939, men were drafted to take part in the Soviet-Finnish war. Sergei Evdokimov went to the front and was killed almost immediately. So at the age of 29, Alexandra became a widow.

In order not to feel lonely and to be as useful to Soviet society as possible, Alexandra Ivanovna, having buried her husband, moved to neighboring Shemyakino and settled with her cousin. At first she worked as an ordinary pig shepherd in the collective farm "Pyatiletka". In the same place, in 1947, she met her second spouse and remarried - to the worker Anatoly Ivanovich Evstigneev.

Labor merits and achievements

The Great Patriotic War began, and in 1941 all the remaining capable male population was called up to the front, regardless of occupation and positions held. During this period, the post of foreman of the field-cultivation brigade of the collective farm, in which Alexandra Ivanovna worked, was vacated. And the hardworking woman was promoted to collective farm foreman. In this position, she began to receive wages differently - instead of a daily wage, she began to receive piecework.

In the next year, 1942, Evdokimova was appointed head of the livestock farm of the same farm. It was aimed at improving production, at increasing the pace and in pursuit of innovative innovations began to closely cooperate with the neighboring breeding farm "Karavaevo". Involved in the development of a senior zootechnician, a talented and promising worker S. I. Steiman, who proposed and managed to re-equip the herd of the collective farm, which was raised by the latter. It was about cows of the highly productive breed "Kostromskaya". Innovations made it possible to instantly increase milk yield to the highest possible.

The merits of the head of the village collective farm did not go unnoticed, and she received a Hero of Socialist Labor by a decree signed by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet on 4 July 1949, and the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle medal to the title.

The formulation of the achievements obtained through the introduction of innovations sounded as follows: during 1948, from 24 breeding cows of the "Kostroma" breed, averaged 5144 liters of whole milk containing 197 kg of fat from each animal for 12 months.

The woman's managerial experience was highly appreciated, and already in 1949 Evdokimova was elected chairman of the same farm collective farm. And in this position, she has achieved brilliant success. Summing up the results of the work in 1949, she set a record again. Thus, the livestock of all species of livestock available on the collective farm increased by 80%. And already from 32 heads of cattle from each unit, 5067 liters of milk were annually yielded, which contained 199 kg of milk fat. For these merits, the leader of labor received the second award from the government of the USSR - the Order of Honor named after Lenin.

In 1951, Aleksandra Evdokimova was awarded the Stalin Prize for the development and implementation of an improved method of raising farm animals that yield high milk yields.

The chairman led the collective farm for 20 years, and during this time the collective farm "Pyatiletka" annually became the leader in all production indicators in the Kostroma region, and most importantly, the collective farm began to flourish and receive very large incomes. All this could not but have a positive effect on the improvement and the inhabitants of the village of Petrilovo.

Improvements in the village thanks to the work of A. I. Evdokimova

Outcome

In 1969, Evdokimova retired and moved to Kostroma.

She died in 1975, on January 22.

In the fall of 2010, the village celebrated the 100th anniversary of the birth of the most outstanding chairman, the famous Alexandra Evdokimova. This month, in her honor, a memorial plaque was erected on the wall of the collective farm management house in Petrilovo for her personal contribution to the development of the village.
