Laurie Petty is an American actress, screenwriter, and director. She began her film career in the late 1980s. She gained wide popularity after playing the role of Tyler Ann Endicott in the movie "On the Crest of the Wave".

Laurie was born in the United States in the fall of 1963. Very little is known about her parents. My father was a minister of the Pentecostal church. Together with him, the girl traveled to the cities of America for several years and only before entering school settled with her family in the city of Sioux City. Mom once worked for the women's newspaper Women's Image. During her school years, Laurie wrote several articles about women's fashion for publication.
Petty's school years were spent at North High School. During her studies, she was a member of the discussion club and editor of the school newspaper - the only girl who was able to take this position.
After completing her primary education, Laurie went to college to study design. After graduation, she worked for a while as a graphic designer in Omaha, but she wanted more. Then she decided to go to New York and enroll in acting classes.
