Marina Aleksandrova (Pupenina) is of Russian-Hungarian origin. She was born in 1982 in the city of Kishkunmaisha and only in adulthood took a more euphonious surname, which was worn by her grandmother. The father of the future actress was a military man, and the family often had to move from place to place. They gradually moved from Hungary to Russia and settled in Leningrad in 1987.
