The collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 was completely unexpected for many citizens. Some part of the population was happy, but many were simply perplexed. People of all ages and social status were involved in the questions of how to equip Russia. It is interesting to note that from among the Soviet intelligentsia, several outstanding personalities emerged, who attracted attention with fresh ideas and projects. Yuri Yurievich Boldyrev was among them.
Starting conditions
Contrary to the now widespread opinion that Soviet engineers and scientists were inferior in qualifications to their Western opponents, the situation was different. It's just that our specialists received a lower salary for their ideas and work. And technical products in their operational parameters were not inferior to European or American counterparts. Yuri Yurievich Boldyrev at the end of the 80s of the last century worked at the Research Institute of Ship Electrical Engineering.
The biography of the future founder of the Yabloko party at first took shape according to the generally accepted scheme. The child was born on May 29, 1960 in a military family. Parents at that time lived in Leningrad. He was periodically transferred from one place of service to another. Thanks to such regulations, Yuri visited Murmansk, Egypt and other interesting places. The teenager had the opportunity to observe with his own eyes how people live in different countries and settlements, what they do and what they dream about.
In 1977, Boldyrev graduated from the Leningrad School and entered the famous LETI - Electromechanical Institute. Having received a higher technical education, the young specialist came on assignment to one of the enterprises of the military-industrial complex. In 1983 he went to work at the Research Institute of Ship Technologies. Within the walls of this scientific institution, senior engineer Boldyrev met perestroika. The scientific and technical intelligentsia greeted the era of cardinal changes with delight.
In the political arena
When the wave of democratization of society reached a critical level, a congress of people's deputies convened in Moscow. This time the elections were held openly and publicly. The events of 1989 were remembered by the fact that Yuri Boldyrev was among the chosen ones from Leningrad. In fact, this moment can be called the start of his political career. At the very first meeting, the erudite and politically savvy representative of the city on the Neva proposed that the vote at the congress be called by name.
Mikhail Gorbachev, chairing the meeting, spoke out sharply against, and Boldyrev's proposal did not pass. However, colleagues noticed and appreciated the potential of the young deputy. Yuri Yurievich actively worked in various posts, where he was democratically elected. In the early 90s, Boldyrev was appointed deputy head of the Accounts Chamber. This is a responsible position with which he coped brilliantly. In 1993, he was among the founders of the Yabloko electoral bloc, which was transformed into a political party.
Later he was actively involved in various party and public positions. The personal life of Yuri Boldyrev is of no interest to yellow press correspondents. He has been happily married for a long time. Counsel and love reign in the house. The husband and wife raised a son who lives independently today.
