Russian viewers, actress Jeri Ryan is best known for the fantastic series "Star Trek: Voyager". Rumor has it that thanks in large part to the appearance of Jeri - a spectacular blonde in a tight-fitting suit - the rating of the project was so high.
The actress herself still hopes that not only the visual techniques contributed to such a popularity of the project, but also the acting talent of the team that participated in the creation of the series.
Biography
The future TV star was born in Munich in 1968. Her father, Gerhard Florian Zimmermann, was a military man and served at that time in the Federal Republic of Germany, and her mother worked in the social service. Therefore, at birth, the girl bore the name - Jeri Lynn Zimmerman.
Like all the military, my father was constantly sent to different bases, and the whole family moved with him, and they lived in Kansas, then in Maryland, then in Georgia, then in some other state. We can say that they traveled almost the entire country, and these trips ended only with Gerhard's retirement.
After that, the head of the family decided to settle in Paducah, Kentucky. Finally, his daughter could safely go to school and not think that in a year she would have to collect her things again. After graduating from high school, the future actress entered Northwestern University, the theater department.
Jeri always knew she was attractive, so in 1989 she applied for the Miss Illinois beauty pageant. To the great joy of the girl, she becomes the winner - this is a real success!
However, the ambitious student was not going to stop there: she decided to win the Miss America contest next year. And now the competition - fears, worries, adrenaline. She won the "Swimsuit Defile" tour, but took only third place in the main competition.
For her, it was a failure, since she only wanted victory. However, with a little reflection, she realized that there are also advantages here: at the competition, she met influential people who will help her in her future career. This happened after she graduated from university and moved to Los Angeles.
Film career
In Los Angeles, thanks to his acquaintances, Jerry immediately gets a permanent job and begins acting in the project "Who's the Boss?" (1984-1992). She has a stable job for eight years, but that's not all.
Almost at the same time, the actress began to appear in the famous TV series Murder, She Wrote (1984-1996), and the project turned out to be even longer, because its ratings were constantly high. Angela Landsbury and William Windom starred here, and they had a lot to learn from the young actress. The series was nominated twenty-three times for various awards and received six awards for Best Actress and Best Series.
Jeri turned out to be a very hardworking girl, and in parallel with the two main series in which she starred during these years, she played small roles in other projects, thereby gaining more and more acting experience.
In 1996, she gets a fairly significant role in the "Dark Skies" project. Unfortunately, the series did not become popular, and after a year it was canceled. This first failure could not affect Jeri's desire to continue acting, because she already had a positive experience.
Literally a year later, in 1997, Ryan was casting for a significant role in the fourth season of the science fiction series "Star Trek: Voyager". She created here the image of a representative of the alien race of the Borg named Seventh-of-Nine. In the story at the end, the alien became a human Annika Hansen.
Here an incident of a different kind happens: rejection from the side of the acting group. The main role in the project was played by the actress Kate Mulgrew, and it was very difficult for Jeri to work with her - there was no interaction during the filming process, that is, Kate tried not to even look at her partner, although in the sense they had to communicate, communicate.
Mulgrew felt that both the producer and the cameraman were giving Ryan too much attention because of her flamboyant appearance, and it hurt everyone. However, coincidence or not, but with the appearance of Jeri in the project, the rating of the series has grown very much.
Ryan was helped by the intercession of the producer of the project Brannon Braga - they then began a romantic relationship.
Be that as it may, the actress herself made a significant contribution to this project, and this is evident at least by the fact that she was nominated four times for the role of the Seventh-of-Nine for the Saturn Award, and in 2011 she received this award in nomination "Best Supporting Actress".
After working in this project, Jeri had her own fans, she was invited to other rating projects.
There was a situation when such fame played a cruel joke with the actress: a fan began to threaten her in writing, who was later arrested. However, he managed to write a lot of threats, and Jeri was very unpleasant.
The other side of fame was also: specially for her, producer David Kelly created the role of a teacher in the series "Boston School". This project was also very popular and won the love of the audience.
Since then, the actress did not have to fear for her career - she became in demand and began acting in several projects at the same time.
Once she was invited to shoot in the magazine "Maxim", and she became known as a great fashion model - the pictures turned out to be gorgeous.
Personal life
In 1990, the beautiful young actress married banker Jack Ryan and changed her last name. After a while, the couple Ryan had a son, Alex. However, Jeri's constant employment did not suit her husband, gradually their relationship cooled, and they divorced.
In 2007, Geri married Christophe Aimé, a French chef. A year later, their baby Giselle was born.
The couple bought a house on the shores of Lake Toluca near Mexico City, where they live with their two children.
