An example of genuine courage, perseverance, true love for the Motherland remains in the national memory and history of Russia the feat of the people, whose share fell to the terrible time of the Leningrad blockade.

What is the feat of the blockade
What is the feat of the blockade

Instructions

Step 1

At the cost of huge losses, real martyrdom, the Russian people, the defenders of Leningrad besieged by the Nazis, paid. 900 terrible days and nights claimed the lives of over 600 thousand Leningraders. Residents of the besieged city died of hunger, froze to death, disappeared without a trace, and perished in artillery shelling.

Step 2

Heroic deeds performed by people in difficult conditions are called heroic deeds. To accomplish a feat requires courage and tremendous willpower.

Step 3

The common desire of the soldiers and residents of Leningrad - not to surrender their hometown to the enemy - served as the main condition for its invincibility. Warriors defenders of Leningrad, the people's militia, partisans selflessly defended the city, performing thousands of feats. But the defense of the city lay on the shoulders of the Leningraders themselves. The contribution of the residents, supporting the life of the city and the whole country, which was in the blockade, was enormous. The blockades had to work on the construction of defensive structures, give up their last strength, releasing the military equipment necessary for the front, aerial bombs, and be the defenders of their hometown during enemy air raids.

Step 4

Now many find it difficult to imagine how scary it is to live in a blockade. And Leningraders managed to preserve the main values of world culture in monstrous conditions of survival. The Hermitage can rightfully be considered a symbol of the invincibility of the culture of the Russian people. This museum lived and worked even under Hitler's bombs: it kept the exhibits remaining in it, the workers protected the building from destruction, even conducted excursions to the empty halls and meetings. The starving defenders of the museum believed that museum collections would live on.

Step 5

In besieged Leningrad, by the will of fate, the famous Russian poetess Anna Akhmatova turned out to be an ordinary fighter of the fire brigade: she was on duty with a gas mask over her shoulder, sewing sandbags. And she wrote poems that were broadcast. The seriously ill Akhmatova was taken out of the besieged city.

Step 6

The voice of Olga Fedorovna Bergolts, who worked on the radio, was a symbol of hope for people in the blockade. The poetess with unprecedented energy in her voice called on the inhabitants to be courageous and created poems that instill faith and hope in barely warm human lives. Olga Bergolts seemed very dangerous for the Nazis: it is no coincidence that the poet was sentenced to death in their lists.

Step 7

Yanina Zheimo, captured in the history of cinematography by the wonderful role of Cinderella, remained to work in Leningrad, although she was repeatedly offered to leave the besieged city. Yanina filmed, and in the evenings she put out incendiary bombs on the roof of the studio. Her huge Leningrad apartment sheltered many homeless people. A fragile fighter of a fighter battalion, in felt boots, a quilted jacket and with a rifle over her shoulders, she performed with the Lenfilm concert brigade in front of the wounded in hospitals and city parks.

Step 8

A huge tragic story can be created about the fate of people who survived the blockade. It is enough to imagine only some of the terrible moments of their existence in the city taken into the ring. The first winter of the blockade was with severe frosts, and there was no firewood or coal to heat the houses. A terrible famine reigned in the city (even leather belts and soles were used for food). The worker was supposed to have 250 grams per day. baked bread with woody impurities, and other residents (including children) - half of this norm. Emaciated people died in families at home or right on city streets. The corpses were covered with snow - there was simply no one to clean them up.

Step 9

There is an expression "undeniable feat", that is, one that, as a result of its persuasiveness, does not allow objections. A similar feat was accomplished by residents and defenders of besieged Leningrad. And there are not enough words to convey admiration for their unyielding will and courage, to express gratitude for saving the city and Russia from a cruel enemy.
