"An actor, like a car, does not break down if he is at work," said Alexei Markov, a famous Russian theater and film actor, TV presenter, screenwriter and director, in an interview. He manages to combine many cases and projects, showing himself with enviable diligence and discipline.
Alexey is familiar to viewers for his roles in the TV series "Kadetstvo", "Hotel Eleon", as well as for his role in the military fantasy drama "Fog".
Childhood and youth
Alexey was born on November 4, 1982 in the family of an engineer in the small town of Kalinin, Tver Region.
Alexey showed love for creativity and acting skills since childhood. As he himself said in one of his interviews, he well remembers his very first role, which he played in kindergarten. It was the role of a hare, for which my mother sewed him a hat with ears and shorts with a cotton ponytail.
During his school years, the future actor took part in theatrical performances and attended the Tver People's Theater, where he played a role in the play "Everything in the Garden" by Edward Oldie.
Theater education
After graduating from the gymnasium, Markov was already firmly convinced of the chosen path for himself and entered the theater school. M. S. Shchepkin to the acting department.
The actor did not stop there and continued his professional development. Two years after graduating from college, he entered the faculty of directing at the Russian Academy of Theater Arts GITIS and graduated in 2011 with a degree in Variety Director. Three years after graduating from GITIS, in 2014, Alexey made his debut tape and tried himself as a director of the film "To hell with Quentin!" Filming took place in Los Angeles. Actor's career
Alexei Markov began to receive his first roles while still studying at the theater school. M. S. Shchepkina. His cinematic career began in 2000 with a role in the Russian detective series I. Aposyan "Maroseyka 12: Indian Summer".
The talent of the young Alexei was noticed at the theater school and after graduation he was invited to shoot the series "Students", where he played the role of a journalist. A year later, the actor gained wide fame and popularity thanks to his role in the familiar to many TV series "Kadetstvo" about the life of pupils of the Suvorov School.
In total, Markov has about twenty roles in various films and TV series. After the success of "Kadetstvo", the actor got roles in such TV series as "Damned Paradise", "Thirty Years", "Freud's Method 2".
Alexey Markov became known to a wider Russian audience after his role in the war drama "Fog". The film tells the story of a modern unit of the Russian army, which was incredibly transported into the past, during the Second World War. The film was released on May 9, 2010 to celebrate Victory Day.
One of the last roles of Markov to date is the comedic image of the professional swindler Michael in the Russian-Ukrainian comedy series "Hotel Eleon", released in 2016. At the moment, the last films in which the actor took part are the films "We will not say goodbye" (2017) and "Keeper of the Lighthouse" (2018).
Other activities
Since 2014, Markov has been the art director of the site of the SHNIT international film festival in Moscow.
In addition, in 2016, he participated with Andrey Malakhov, Tatiana Arno and Dmitry Dibrov in the international project of Channel One and Channel One of China - The Second All-China Television Competition in Russian.
Markov has also been teaching acting and personal effectiveness for businessmen and ordinary people around the world for a long time, works with participants in programs such as "Voice" and "Just the same", has published several books in which he shared his experience and best practices on acting and life productivity.
Family and Children
Along with a stormy professional life, filming, teaching, managing a theater studio in Tver and conducting trainings around the world, Alexei manages to raise two of his teenage daughters.
The actor spoke about his personal life as follows: “I never got married or got divorced. We met, we had children, lived together, and when we decided that was enough, we parted."
Alexey maintains good, friendly relations with the mother of his daughters, and both of them are engaged in their upbringing.
Most of all in his life, Markov, according to him, appreciates silence. In the literal sense - as the absence of annoying noise and empty talk, and figuratively - as the simplicity and minimalism of the environment, things, clothes and interior.
Future plans
According to the actor, thanks to filming in films, he learned a discipline that helps him in all other areas.
Now, at 37 years old, Alexey makes many plans for life and wants to live it, making the most of all the time and enjoying every moment.
He continues his career with bold, ambitious goals.
