The Kaaba, which literally translates from Arabic as "cube", and in a more precise, contextual "high, revered place", is located in Mecca, on the territory of the Protected Mosque and is a shrine for Muslims.
Sacred house
The Kaaba is one of the central symbols in Islam; it is to her that all Muslims of the world turn their eyes to during prayer. Kaaba is the “Sacred House”, the house of prayer. Over its long history, the Kaaba has been repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt, therefore its current size and structure are slightly different from the first structure for the worship of Allah, which was built according to legend by the son of Adam - Shis.
Access to the Kaaba is closed, and a very limited circle of people can enter it, and only during the ablution of the Kaaba, held twice a year - before the celebration of Ramadan and before the Hajj.
The Kaaba today stands on a marble foundation, its corners are directed to the cardinal points and bear the corresponding names. The building is always covered with a special black silk veil, on which the words of the Koran are embroidered in gold. In the eastern corner of the Kaaba there is a built-in black stone in a silver setting, its visible size is 16x20 cm. This stone is an object of special veneration and worship among Muslims. According to legend, the stone was betrayed by Allah himself to Adam, but then the stone was white. Over time, the stone turned black, absorbing human sins.
Beliefs
Many legends, legends and even myths are associated with the Kaaba. The internal content of the Kaaba raises a lot of questions. They talk about both the mysterious writings and shrines stored inside it, and the countless treasures hidden within its walls.
In fact, there is nothing like that inside the Kaaba, it is really a great value for Muslims, but the value is of a spiritual nature. If we talk about treasures, then they include only more than two hundred kilograms of gold used in the decoration of doors and the interior space of the room.
There is no artificial lighting inside the Kaaba.
The doors to the Kaaba are covered with gold and engraved texts of the Koran, the floor and walls are lined with marble slabs. One of the floor slabs visually differs from the others; according to legend, the Prophet Muhammad prayed here and this place is special for Muslims.
On the walls there are ornaments, tablets with texts about the rulers who took part in the construction of the Kaaba. The roof is installed on three pillars, each of which bears the name of an angel. Ancient lamps and vessels with incense are hung on the crossbars between the pillars, the walls and ceiling are covered with silk.
