From engine repairman to clip maker - is that possible? As the experience of Yuri Grymov shows, it is quite possible. Today his name is one of the first places in the list of the most famous producers and directors. And sometimes it seems that nothing is impossible for him: to create a corporate identity, to stage a performance, to make a film, or to conceive and implement a serious cultural project.
Yuri was born in 1965 in Moscow. What he did not do in childhood - he played basketball, and painted, and danced in an ensemble. However, drawing has always come first.
Immediately after school, Yuri was taken into the army, and it was there that he became an engine repairman in an artillery company. And after the service he went to work at the AZLK plant.
Once a tall, handsome young man hit the catwalk: he was a model at fashion shows at the Lux fashion center. He studied culturology at the Institute of Culture, and also starred in videos for famous singers - this is how his career in show business began.
Advertising, cinema, theater and more
Yuri got his first experience in advertising at the Premier SV advertising agency. Here he created and shot advertising and music videos. In total, about three hundred videos were shot during that period, and his clients were show business stars: Alla Pugacheva, Alsu, Katya Lel, Vitas, Oleg Gazmanov, Alexander Rosenbaum, Valery Leontiev and others. In total, the master currently has more than 600 different videos.
In 1996, Grymov shoots his first short film "Male Revelations", and also opens the Workshop of Cinema and TV Advertising, where young people could learn from the most eminent masters of theater and cinema.
In 1998, Grymov shoots the film "MU-MU", which received the "Kinotavr" award and other prestigious awards. A year later, he staged the performances "Flowers for Algernon", "Nirvana", and the opera "The Tsar's Bride". In the following years, the films "Casus Kukotsky", "To the Touch", "Polianna", "Year of the White Elephant" and others were released.
Yuri Grymov has a lot of awards for commercials, for photo exhibitions, for social videos and music videos. For example, his video “Anti AIDS. Spacesuit”received the United Nations award.
However, it makes no sense to list all Yuri Grymov's projects: a year will pass, and he will "give out" something new and unusual.
In recent years, Yuri Vyacheslavovich was engaged in youth Internet education, developed the style of large companies, even was the adviser to the governor on culture in the Oryol region, at the same time holding the position of artistic director of the Modern Theater.
Among other things, he now runs the Yug studio, and is also a member of the public chamber of the Moscow region, academician of the Russian Academy of Cinematic Arts, academician of advertising.
Personal life
Yuri always said that he does everything very quickly. The same thing happened with his marriage: once he gave a lift to the girl Olga in his car, and three days later they were already at the registry office - they were registering the marriage. Moreover, Olga that day went to a meeting with her fiancé, whom she was going to marry.
Yuri and Olga had a daughter, Antonina, now she is quite an adult and lives in France.
Grymov says that he and his wife and daughter are like-minded people and help each other in everything: for example, Antonina starred in one of her father's films. And in general, according to Yuri Vyacheslavovich, they have a very friendly family, in which the spirit of democracy reigns.
