Vera Alentova is a legendary Soviet and Russian actress, the star of the imperishable film "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears", as well as other films directed by Vladimir Menshov. She became not only the muse of the latter, but also his legal companion in life.
Biography
Vera Alentova was born in 1942 in the town of Kotlas. Almost all of her close relatives worked in the theater, so the girl's fate was a foregone conclusion from the very birth. Father died when Vera was four years old, after which she and her mother moved to Krivoy Rog. It was there that her school years passed. Vera really dreamed of becoming an actress in the future, but her mother was against this and wanted her daughter to study as a doctor.
After a while, the family settled in Barnaul, where Vera tried to enroll in a medical institute. Having failed, she immediately went to audition at the local theater. The mother took the news with a scandal, trying to reason with her daughter to first get an education in Moscow. Vera obeyed and patiently waited another year before leaving for the capital. In Moscow Alentova managed to enter the Moscow Art Theater School. It was there, in 1961, that she met Vladimir Menshov, who was then still a completely unknown student-actor.
Educated in 1965, Vera Alentova began her acting career at the Pushkin Theater. She quickly became one of the best actresses, and many directors wanted to work with the young artist. The most successful was the tandem with Roman Kozak: Vera played in his seven brilliant performances. During the same period, she began to try herself in cinema, starring in the film "Flight Days", but then for more than 10 years she continued to be a theatrical actress.
In 1977 Vera Alentova starred in the film "Birth", having received the first widespread fame. By this time, the faithful companion in the life of the actress Vladimir Menshov had already taken place as a talented director, and he decided to approve his muse for the main role in the film "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears." The picture immediately acquired the status of a cult and in 1981 even received an international film award "Oscar". For her contribution to the development of cinema, Vera Alentova was also awarded an honorary state prize and the title of the best Soviet actress of this period.
In 1982, Alentova's next role followed in the film Time for Reflection, then in the film Time for Desires. In the 90s, she again worked with Vladimir Menshov, starring in the films Shirley-Myrli and Envy of the Gods. One of the last famous works with the participation of the actress was the film "Endlessly expensive", filmed again with the participation of Menshov. Later Vera Alentova began teaching acting courses at the State University. Gerasimova, and also performed on the theater stage with pleasure.
Personal life
At the beginning of her student life, Vera Alentova met Vladimir Menshov and never parted with him. They quickly got married, but they did not immediately establish a life together: after graduation, Vera remained to work in Moscow, and Vladimir was assigned to Stavropol. Gradually, the couple settled down to everyday life and healed happily. In 1969, they had a daughter, Yulia Menshova, now a famous actress and TV presenter.
It is worth noting that after the birth of their daughter, the couple decided to divorce, but did not dare to take this step. They managed to resolve mutual conflicts and now they personify one of the most friendly and loyal star families in the country.
